Khemistry in Spades
Ep 1 - c’mon horror theme, I never get goosebumps but that opening scene was scary, cool AND funny lol. But seriously, how beautiful can an actor lewk walking down a dark alley in Thailand! Namping is serving face chile. And lordy did I get get chills seeing Namping/Khem’s father as a monk. It was shocking, scary and heart wrenching all at once and we’re only 1 episode in.
The red toolbox, chills again…seriously I’m really difficult to scare but ok, Ima keep watchin ya 😟😥😂.
Masters spirit dolls are the cutest.
Background music and OST, honestly from the trauma of ballad ridden The Next Prince and it’s clunky sound scene changes and BG music that is a character in itself, Mandee Work I was skeeerddd for this one, BUT, refreshingly it’s all really quite good, with a bit of silly so TNPs bigger budget doesn’t always mean better Mandee Work.
We have story, a plot and good acting, winning!

Keng and Namping finally have their own series. We’ve been waiting since they were paired in 2023’s DMD Friendship The Reality after their excellent showcase highlighting their Northern heritage Keng from Phayao on the Laos border and Namping from Mae Hong Son on the Myanmarr border. It was a cute showcase vying to win starring in a series, go have a look at their early Khemistry (see what I did there 🤣). In the series they were up against #ThomasKong no less and see where they are now!
Personally, I think Namping is very beautiful on screen and Keng comes across as stoic and mature. I’m really looking forward to seeing how they’re acting has evolved in this horror comedy series.
I’ll post the release timeline here when it’s published (or if someone sees it message me 🙏🏾😂). It is expected to be after The Next Prince. Plus you’ll also be able to catch them in the upcoming Magic Lover which looks hilarious. They also have their own Vlog on YouTube @domunditv.
It’s a highly anticipated series with the pilot receiving 4.8 million views on YouTube to date:

This is PingNut!
Ep 2 - yes silly but with extra silly sass! The more Ping is angrier the better the sillyness gets. It’s not gonna be an award winner but is pretty fun. After watching episode 1 it really isn’t disappointing. It’s definitely not for everyone and has got a targeted audience. The simplicity and dumbing down of some of the themes in the first episode are understandable in it’s reach for a wider audience so I’m looking forward to seeing how this can be progressed. Really impressed with the production value of the opening sequin(ce) and right from the start we get a gist of what this is all about. One of the aspects I do enjoy about Beyond Cloud is their pace of story telling, it’s never too slow and keeps on moving.
The cast I’m intrigued to see what they have up their shirtless sleeves lol I’m really looking forward to seeing how they’re acting has developed since Pit Babe original series.
I’m imagining a lot of people won’t like the Thai comedy that’s in this series, it’s definitely not to everyone’s taste but for me it’s really refreshing to see and enjoy given the copious amount of new semi-serious BL series being produced and China’s censorship BL crackdown (again) so this is giving us a Queens sized heel full of sillyness with a message about acceptance so best watched with a glass of wine and big dose of don’t take it too seriously.
After enjoying the trailer, online content and YouTube this does not let us down, OTT camp.

Kill Me Now!
Where to start. Thank you BL Gods and Gagaoolala for getting this one thru!Production value is good. Great to see both MLs taking on leading roles, I’ve enjoyed their other series. The script is a bit basic so far. Acting a little clunky. It’s only 12 episodes so not expecting a complicated story line.

What A Knockout!
Ep 4 - Ughhh how can this keep getting better! Thun with his soft plushie side, I can’t stand it, yes I can, no I can’t, yes I can…’blow on it for me’ STOPIT, NODONT 🤣😳😂.Likes: all of it
Not so much: I like it alll.
Funny/special moment: The Heartless Left Hook - sounds like a s€x position lmao 😳🤩🤣.
Ep 3 - the story is developing intriguingly.
Episode 2 - oh my heartbeat. My blood pressure can’t cope with the drama or the hard hitting action 😰♥️🤣.
Likes: all. Not so much: Nothing.
Funny/weird moment: Ms Muay - on Keen’s mobile as ‘Loan Shark Bitc$’ is perfect haha lol. I’m glad she’s not over acting her role as the script alone is tight and just needs enough nuance from her to really make her evil #loveher #hateher.
Episodes 1 - what a start!
With the title of ‘Knockout’, you better have some good action and amazingly it does.
When Gun, playing ML Thun turns to Keen, played by Nice Boripat Jamsat in the first scene I got chills, he reminds me of a famous Southeast action star, I just can’t remember who. I’m in love lol 🥷🥊♥️.
Likes: so many, a first for me.
* OMG Samart Payakaroon Muay Thai boxing legend playing Uncle Petch is da bomb 💥.
* It has a gorgeous music score moving from classical guitar, to modern pop, to ambient and atmospheric.
* All new leads are very strong, the older Thai actors are da bomb diggety, so good.
* So much subtext is happening between the support cast of characters Pakorn, Ait, Boong, Marwin and Klao directed so sharply by not so suprisingly Tee Bundit Sintanaparadee.
* Ms Muay - what a bitc$ bahahaha she’s so good, I hate her lmao but really.
Not so much: ummm…nothing. It’s fiercely antonist driven and I have a feeling my hearts going to be wrenched from one corner of the boxing ring to another!
Funny/weird moment: sah cute seeing some of the ‘Joker’ series set.
I have high hopes for this now, may the power of ‘word of mouth’ be strong form this BL and if not thank you to the writer, production team and cast for an outstanding piece of script, direction and acting, brava.

More like a doco than a series…
I give this kudos for showing a slice in time with a BL feel. The doco style Warholesque/Westwood/Banksy feel is refreshing. Some of the acting is very obvious eg over glancing at each other so we know that your glancing at each other, Acting and story is getting better. Supporting actors particularly are strong.
Leon and Pj save this BL for me. Especially Pj, what a slow burning, intense, obvious yet subtle portayal of Baabin, I see great things for him as an actor.
Lacked emotional depth. Excellent production quality.

Ep 1 - Very cute start. A light hearted comedy romp tackling a hard (pun intended) topic that affects men, impotency. So fun and interesting seeing this issue being tackled lol.
Likes: The swap, Max’s cheeks.
Not so much: Wearing underwear in the bath. Subtitles and headings are a little off and incorrect spelling.
Well I’ve never seen this type of BL before! I like both of these actors so looking forward to seeing what magic they can pull off this time. Earth is looking fab and fierce as the older brother.
Trailer is out and starts airing on IQIYI 17 June.

Dark Twists Are Coming
I’m really wondering if there are good people in this world! It’s like a now reflection of South Korean society, very interesting.Well I’m here for great actors/acting, direction, story telling but most of all THE DOLLS lol.
The jump rope song is scaaaary already. Is Cheol-su going to have crazy eyes like his girlfriend Young-hee? What treachery does he posses and is Thanos/T.O.P. Really back in 2 episodes as flashbacks ‘Let’s getit’.
Here’s the trailer if you missed it.

K Drama at it's Violently Comedic Best
Coming from Australia and not being Korean I have been amazed at the amount of excellent k drama writing, directing and acting talent taking the world by storm. 'Study Group' is my new 'Squid Game', the high school version. It begins with the hilarious script, with comedy parts no doubt penned by Oh Bo Hyun, from 'Island' and the hilarious 'Behind Your Touch'. How she came into partnership with this quite brutally bullying gangster action drama was a stroke of someone's genius. Without her this would be a tough watch as it is very physically and emotionally brutal.
This leads me to Wanna One and Nu'est god (haha) Hwang Min Hyun. He's racked up quite a few great roles and awards and rightly so. His comedic timing and screen dead pan face is a killer, literally lol. There are many scenes where his inner monologue is screaming, but with dead pan eyes, then BOOM out it comes. I can only guess this would have been tiring for him to film on many levels, but I'm hoping he gets award kudos for this role (after he finishes his military service I guess, excuse my ignorance here).
I could go on about all of the actors as there are some heavy hitters in this great cast but I'm not really a review type of person, however, I do want to mention Ju Yeon Woo, I may have had some tears at the end of ep. 8, his story arch comes pretty fast with a big wallop at the end, cheers to him! I'm also guessing Shin Su-hyun had a great time being a heavy hitter (pun intended) in this drama, she was excellent.
The OST kicks off (pun intended again) with Zerobaseone's Seok Matthew and Park Gunwook's 'Backpacker', awesome track. The killer tho is Bang Yedam's 'Hollo', especially at the end of ep. 8. Can't wait to hear the rest of the tracks.
The violence is horrendous so be warned and I can see why it's not so popular for many viewers, but I can also see why it's currently ranking no.1 in many places. If you can hang in there, there are meanings in there in regards to academia, survival and doing what's right.

1000 Lotus Leaves
Saint, also taking on a Producing role, plays ML Jom, the Village Chief. This man is very talented, he’s Produced, Executive Produced and acted in many BLs and series and really anchors this one.Poom plays Yo, the witless but brave and pretty well played antagonist.
Phutharit Prombandal currently also starring in The Next Prince plays Kla the Village headman in this and I have to say I LOVE his work both in this and TNP, he’s the man fo sure.
Jowkwan, Oat, Towi play the Chief’s “Assistants” ie his little brothers and are h i l a r i o u s! Can’t wait to see what these 3 get up to.
Likes: Saint - I mean what a HUNK of a Cheif, where do I sign up as his Headmistress 🙏🏾😂. The story is sweeter than Kayasart so I’m hoping for great chemistry in this one. His acting is something for all rookies to watch and learn from, he’s a bit of a powerhouse for me.
The Village - love this so much. My favourite scene comes from the first time we meet some of the villagers making Kayasart, a Thai sweet made of rice, nut, sesame-seeds and sugar. The scene is really gorgeous. The last scene tho is a stealing killer I tell you, hunk Jom taking a nap in a boat amongst ‘1000 Lotus Leaves’, that’s me wanting to rename this lol.
Not so much: The kind of sped up, over-the-top Thai comedy acting that sometimes doesn’t go down well with international viewers, which is very prevalent in earlier Thai BLs (sorry Thais 😢). The villian especially in cringe-worthy. I’m hoping this kind of over-acting fades away as the series progresses as the premise, vibe and story is really good, please please pretttty please 🙏🏾 lol. I think a bit of a swap could’ve happened, if this recieved some of the slow burn calm of current BL Lost in the Woods and this could give that a bit of spiciness it would be a match made in gay heaven 🤣.
Funny/weird moment: the intro/outro soundtrack keeps reminding me of Ossan’s Love Thailand OST Suckling with Earth, Mix and Jennie, love it.

Lots of Detectiving (not a real word ?)
Really enjoyed the ML and his friendships, would have enjoyed more of that. The detective part was on point and lots of dun to watch and try and figure out as the stories evolved.
Only downside was the FL. She seems more to be playing the role of a servant rather than a lead role. Her posture is also not the greatest. Her neck cranes forward a lot and isn’t in alignmnet with her spine, her centre wasn’t strong during this filimjng. There are many short FLs in C dramas, but I never really noticed their height however I did in this and I feel it’s because she just didn’t have any real acting strength in this series. The second, third and fourth female leads were far stronger and more intersting especially the 2nd FL, she could have easily taken the lead role in this.

The Korean Daddy
Started well but veered off to low budget land. Final rating 6/10.Ep 4 - the romance is heating up, some nice chemistry hapenning and the story is developing but I can sense some tears are coming!
K Dad is still hot lol.
Still a lot of negative comments and low ratings and Indefinitely know some sre from seeing the dubbed version which is terrible, so people just watch the WeTV version only trust me it’s like a normal BL series, the dubbed version has got lots of terrible sound issues.
Hmm 3 eps in and it’s middle of the road for me.
I see a lot of comments that people are confused as to why this hasn’t been doing very well and why it’s not well known. I think we have to remember that some series get backing through their marketing campaigns and some series actually put a huge budget towards promoting the series through many different avenues and media types, promoting the lead actors, live appearances, sponsors and marketing the OST. Without that kind of backing it has to rely on word-of-mouth and online activity which can only get you so far. Without some serious coin it has to fall back to the cast, production value and word of mouth. But these need to be done extremely well. There are many smaller budget BLs that have achieved this so it’s not impossible.
I also think the semi dubbed version that was released was seen without knowing about the Gaga version like me so at first I woukd have given this a very low rating.
It is still early days for this one so who knows.
Likes: script is pretty good with an interesting grass roots bad boy done good storyline.
Not so much: some minor issues, the sound and background music is more like a background concert so over emphasises/overbears the scene. Acting is solid in parts then drops. Casting 43 yo for 28 yo is just too far a reach. Major issue for me is the editing, many earlier Thai BLs struggled with this and they still haunt me so I’m getting those kinds of flashbacks lol.
Outcome: I’ll keep watching, the story is too intriguing and Korean daddy is daddy’ing 🤣.

น่ารัก Ǹā rạk to the Max
First episode is so Ǹā rạk (cute). The cinematography is beautiful. The production team has spent a lot of time editing this together. It’s visually stunning. The men are very cute and it’s such an odd but compelling group of men to watch five Thai and five Internationals. I recognize quite a few of the actors as they have been in BLs so looking forward to seeing what this is all about, great start so far! It’s so cute in the first episode the rules were supposed to show 1000 baht as starting funds for expenses over three weeks however they misspelled it and it says ‘tarting’ funds. I think the production company would find it hilarious if they looked up what a tart was haha made me
giggle.
