I Came Here For Saint LOL
It’s not gonna win any major drama awards but if you would like an easy watch BL with lots of cute scenes and nothing too deep with a bit of silliness thrown in and love in the countryside, then take your time watching this.I’m not gonna lie there are a few cringe worthy moments but once you get past that it does have a wholesome heartfelt story lol.

Debut's Plan: NewKids on the Starship
Some great talent, I'm 6 episodes in. I wish them all the very best. A few familiar faces so hopefully they get to debut. The set is amazing, purpose built with lots of great spaces for them.
Judging is a bit of a concern as well as the pressured setup for the talent, that same older style of ‘give them no time’ painful to watch them crash type of viewing. Chuang Asia 2 took that type of made for tv crap out and they aren’t suffering for it.
Show performance is clunky, you get to see their dress rehearsal, given notes and stress them out severely then they are on, not the greatest tv setup hence 8 from me. It would have been lower but the talent make up for the board/producers old style storytelling.
As a foreigner it’s getting harder to understand what’s happening, there are gaps in the subtitles and some quick scene/story edits so we can’t really follow each storyline easily.
OMG the acting was off the hook great! Now that was a stroke of genius, have given an extra star for that, now it’s staring to get good.
Description of this show from a press release:
21 contestants competing for a spot on 'NewKids'.
The show includes five plans, in which the trainees will compete for seven spots in the newly debuting group. What differentiates 'Debut's Plan' from other shows is that the members selected by viewers and the executive board must align. 'Debut's Plan' explained, "If the 7 NewKids that you (viewer) and the board members choose to end up matching completely, the final debut assessment for the 7 NewKids will be their debut stage. If your choice and the board members' choices differ At least 8 to 16 NewKids will be on the final debut assessment stage."
The board members include Starship Entertainment's executive producer, artist team, performance team, visual team, recruit development team, production team, and professionals who will help the trainees grow.

Some good laughs
Glad to see all the comedy in this one and really great to see the deaf community represemted in a BL! Taiwanese BL heading in the right direction. Some great chemistry between the leads too. An excellent level of production and acting as well. Music also added to the comedy. A fun watch ☺️👍🏾.Was this review helpful to you?
WTF
What happened, there are now many strong, amazing and talented writers, directors and actors in the BL world. Someone responsible needed to step in and right the production. Such a waste of money and talent producing low quality work. All I can offer is that in the future they should get other external professionals in to coach and assist, they must have known something/s weren’t working. Was this review helpful to you?
Enigmatically ABO
Praise this Chinese Production Company for getting this on air!So many missed opportunities before this, but thank the heavens this BL made it.
Eps 1 - 3. Great storytelling and an excellent production value with very strong and specific direction. Looking forward to seeing more of the MLs and how they develop their roles.
Fast paced sci-fi with a strikingly well developed script.
Imagine how The Untamed or Addicted or Word of Honour could have been with this type of treatment!

Worth A Rewatch When Your Ready
Definitely in my top 10. The acting is so restrained in some scenes. The chemistry in the silence between the leads shows how authentic BL stories can be when acted and directed so superbly. I personally love when BL are filmed in the city and in the country it really shows off rural landscapes and living that we would not necessarily see internationally. Cheers to the director as well and the script writers for a phenomenal series. I hope this one wins lots of awards. Was this review helpful to you?
Stoic Power
I enjoyed this series more than rhe first as I felt this story runs in a more believabke sequence. Acting was really strong throughout I thought.Likes: the soundtrack is hot! Cinematography and colour palette were gorgeous.
Not so much: actually enjoyed most of it but I’m an all action fan tbh.

Tooth decay by too much sweetness
Sadly this is terrible. It’s more like a never ending badly scripted tvc. Such a shame. The leads are actually really talented but the script, production and direction are very lacking. Why people are giving this 10s across the board is just weird.
Had the potential to be funny and good but soooooooo corny in a very bad way.

Welcome to the Farside of the Moon
Ep 2 - I’m dying from the hair, makeup and fashion alone lol.But seriously, I’m in love with Man Love! My BL heart is all a flutter over Krailert and Naran’s library literary lip liaison.
This has political unrest, classism, sexism, bigotry and econimicism (that ain’t a word 🤣).
Script is scripting for me, ‘I’ll shine your shoes again if I ever get the chance.’ And this is what you call an OST, I still have BL PTSD from The Last Prince OST but this is not an interference or it’s own character, it’s sound design and engineering. Slot Machine, what a vocal in such a different genre for them, I hope ‘Am I in Love’ charts well for them, it’s on fiya.
Ep 1 - The psychedelic opening credits were groovy! Apo (Dr Trin) is lookng like the next James Bond, the cinematography is giving.
Miles (Tanwa) first track in the Moonshine band was sexy. Background music is atmosphericly on point.
As Miles alluded too in interviews this is a Man Love series and a fascinating look back in time at Thailand in the late 60s. I would say it’s had more script rewrites than many other Thai BLs moving this more into T-drama rather than a straight out BL and I’m here for it, the more sophisticated the writing the further this can go worldwide.
WOW is all I can say to Be On Cloud and Pond.

An Unexpected Emotional Flotilla of a Ride!
Kian is awesome! What a ride and to have Jin on board is super fantastic. From producer Jung Hyo-min who gave us Hyori's Bed and Breakfast, get ready for an unexpected emotional flotilla of a ride! For fans of Kian, there are lots of ‘Kian-esque’ features in the B&B! Jin really is a superstar who gives anything a try and is cutest when he calls out ‘Boss’ all the time.
Such an oddball setup but with all the good feels you could want. It’s a relaxing watch even tho it looks quite stressful lol relaxing because I’m watching from the comfort of my home and laughing at what he, his two fabulous staff members, the part-timer lol and guests have to go through.
The Ha Family story was heartbreakingly inspirational, get ready to grab a tissue.
Fun and moving to the end. I’ll look forward to season 2.

Such A Same It Had So Much Potential
China censorship sucks badly. No use in sugar coating that fact. The cast to a great job, really interesting story, great production value all let down by stupid censorship.
It definitely deserves a 10 from me because of the fact that it was able to be produced and everyone did a great job in such a restrictive regime.

Sweet like Silver Chrysanthemum Tea with a touch of Sadness
Some great story telling in this short series. Well worth a binge watch. It’s a low key small budget kind of a situation but I’m here for it. Why? Because of it’s simple but effective script, simple but effective cinematography and simple but effective acting. The old style tenement building with grandma looking after her grandson gives this BL some authentic nostalgia, the hard working bar owner and the arranged marriage third story weave a trio of sad but true to life stories.

Slow Burner
Enjoyed the slow burn of this love story. Some great acting throughout the series. An easy dreamy series to watch with a nice tea or coffee by the window on a rainy day. You’ll get sucked into the characters and before you know it, it’s over. Would have enjoyed seeing their next steps and what all the characters do next. Was this review helpful to you?
Crazy Messy in a Good Way
Bahahaha I think the review by Shiro is the best in explainjng this hilarious mess https://kisskh.at/profile/Shirioink.But messy in such a good way haha. Watching the cast deliver their lines and then laugh at themselves is a bit of a stroke of pure genius from the director who I see is the third generation film company owner Xion. Letting the end of some of the scenes make it through the editing process is really pure genius because the cast you can tell can’t believe what they’re saying and find it funny themselves It does feel like they have created some of the script themselves on the go, which I think was pure brilliance.
As an actor myself there were so many cringe worthy moments, but if I was in that cast, I would’ve had the best time. One of the funniestly bad BL series out there but in my top 100 for sure lol keep up the great work Xion!
If anything, they should’ve stuck to Tagalog and Spanish only as it really conveyed am authentic storyline as the English acting wasn’t as competent or needed really. And by the way, there are a few musical numbers so be ready for them.
The GLBTIQA+ message of inclusion is good but could have been cleaner and clearer.
Xion, if you need an English speaking GLBTIQA+ assistant hit me up. I’d love to help out on your next project. You’re amazing.

China reverted back to rhe 70s with over censorship
China really has to be ashamed. Real people everyday do not live without full expression of themselves. Only through repression can productions like this be made. It’s goes against human rights and is so demeaning to GL TIQA+ people in China. I’m so afraid for them them, it’s 2024 and illegal to live like they want to. If we don’t do anything ourselves imagine what fatalities will incur to the GLBTIQA+ chinese people in the future, join me in standing up for their rights as free living people. Was this review helpful to you?
