Thanks for this article and the interesting questions! It's fun reading other people's answers too! How many 2023-release dramas did you watch? 18 + 1 2022 released drama. What country did you watch the most in 2023? China. What genre(s) do you usually watch? Romance (by a looong shot) then fantasy and historical (which is not surprising seeing as I love Chinese romance xianxias!). What is your top drama listed in this article? I didn’t actually watch any of these dramas (I did drop a few of them though). This year I definitely enjoyed the less “popular” dramas for some reason! What is your top drama NOT listed in this article? Back From The Brink, Please Don’t Be Moved, Love Strikes Back, Provoke and Nine Times Time Travel. I think this wrap-up mainly covered full length dramas whereas four of my picks were short length so maybe a short length drama wrap-up might have listed some of them (especially Provoke because that drama seemed to be pretty popular)? How was your drama journey in 2023? Mixed...I really enjoyed the dramas that have now been added to my favs list but I definitely dropped a few that were in my fav genre because for some reason I just couldn't get into them... What is your wish or plan in dramaland in 2024? I hope that I can get into more romance heavy Chinese fantasy dramas this year! I really only enjoyed six dramas this year and out of those only two were really romance heavy so here's to more romance in 2024!
I just realised that this drama still doesn't have a synopsis. So basically Yu Wan Wan accidentally falls into a book world and the only way that she can leave is by kissing the ML of the story, Yan An Tang. But Yan An Tang's illegitimate half-brother Yan Chi Han, who is the villain in the book world, soon falls in love with Yu Wan Wan...
Out of all the 2~3 min dramas that I've watched this is definitely my favourite! It had such an interesting story, good actors, good chemistry and such beautiful costumes! The directing and cinematography were also really amazing!! I'm surprised that such a good drama got zero promotion but maybe they blew the promotion budget on the lovely outfits??
It looked like a rape scene to me. I just don't understand this, this drama has had so many beautiful consensual kiss/bed scenes and then they throw in a rape scene near the end there? What were the writers thinking? And what makes this worse is that at the beginning the FL had LITERALLY shot dead the guy who had raped her mother and now she's been raped as well by her own husband. I was really looking forward to this drama but it's just a complete write off for me now :/
Because she didn't develop any signs of supernatural abilities due to her mother sealed her power. Plus, (in the…
I knew there must have been an explanation somewhere else, thank you! I see what you mean though because even as an adult she clearly can't control her powers. I hope they are going to do a sequel!!
I just watched this, it was really good! The cinematography and CGI were so well done. I guess my only issue with this movie is that some of the scenes with Miyo were really hard to watch because she was treated so badly and was so broken :'( The one thing that's confusing me though (probably because I haven't read the manga or seen the anime) is why didn't the Usuba clan take Miyo away from that house when she was a little girl??
If they went back and remade this show as a full length drama I could see maybe the first episode or maybe even…
I agree, that's why I think the (unnecessary) step-mother plot line should have been removed and then they could have given that screen time to other stuff like the past life!
I just finished watching this and it was really good! I could have easily watched it in one sitting, it was very addictive. I just wish that they had spent more time on the romance and the past life. I realise that this is a short drama but they could have cut out the plot thread about the step-mother and used that screen time to flesh out other parts of the story. It would have been interesting for Qiu Yu and Li Jian to discuss how she LITERALLY killed him in a previous life, and maybe what their lives were like as kids, seeing as they all knew each other growing up. I think this drama definitely brought up some interesting points though, like can you punish someone for something they haven’t actually done yet? And then was this drama about Qiu Yu’s revenge or Li Mo and Xin Er’s downfall, seeing as I think the second leads ended up with more screentime in the end?? I think that if you like short revenge dramas with a side of romance then you will enjoy this!
The first four trailers are up on Youku both the international app and the website
On the official Snow Moon Weibo page they posted footage of Zuo Ye from iQiyi's "My Journey To You" to help promote "The Snow Moon" (which is a Youku drama) so I'm just wondering if they got in trouble for doing that (because it's copyright infringement) so the drama has been postponed because of that???? That's the only reason that I can think of for the postponement. I was really looking forward to start watching this yesterday :(
Idk why but when I first stumbled across this drama and just from synopsis, I had this idea in my head the story…
I had thought the exact same thing!! This drama was much more light-hearted than what I expected, from that initial BTS video that they released ages ago I thought that this drama was going to have a much darker tone and have the two worlds clash!
I just watched Ep 22 and I just don't understand why she won't just tell him the truth? Although I'm still not convinced that she is Xia Wei somehow?? She just keeps referring to herself, even in her head, as being Zhi Xin. Unless she has lived as Zhi Xin for so long she can't remember who she really is anymore?? I don't know, I just feel like there is going to be another twist at the end?
I watched Ep 1 last night and this drama is so cute!!! But can somebody please explain to me what happened in the animated background story of Ep 1 and what the grandmother was saying later on about a "predestined relationship"??? (I couldn't understand the Chinese subs well enough and the English subs only follow English grammar when they feel like it 🤣🤣).
