One thing I like abt this series is the OST. I really love how each song fits the atmosphere and the vibe of the scenes. Well done to that.
I just finished EP3 and I would say that this has a similar plot to He's Coming to Me and Happy Birthday - with ghosts having unresolved issues before they died. Now, that alone allows me to have guesses on how the drama would end. I think it's either Yoon Ah leaves and reincarnates or he stays for good (just like in HCTM). I think we would also see Mario's life for a bit. But I am really guessing that this is gonna contain some heavy dramatic scenes (lots of crying) IG. Well, those are just my thoughts after watching the first 3 episodes. This is very recommendable but I'll wait till the very end before I give out my final comments.
This was a good start for them. I didn't expect any dramas way off the bat but they did portray it very well.
Honestly, before it was aired, I didn't have an idea on how they're gonna do this with their language barriers since the actors came from different countries but I am not surprised with what they did. The dialogues were okay for me, at some point it does get kinda weird when one speaks in Korean and the other one answers in Thai but I am getting used to it lol.
I was thinking the same thing. If lots of those sweet moments are skipped, what else is that left to watch that…
The beginning was quite enjoyable. As well as the flashbacks. I also liked the egames and aerospace scenes included even if it’s not the main focus. Actually, the part that I was pertaining to which I skipped was like the long kissing scenes, the dates with just background musics, and mostly towards the end. But I still watched most of it like their cute highschool interactions, the wedding, them living together, their e-sport scenes, especially the part where Dilraba is filming and Yangyang visited her.
I’m sorry I quite overestimated the moments I skipped because thinking about it now, I would say that I only skipped like 1/4 of it so I can still say that I was able to witness and understand the story.
Another factor that I enjoyed was, of course, the casts. They’re oozing with visuals and I think they fit the role. Their acting skills are great which gave me a good impression of YangYang and Dilraba as it’s my first time watching them.
Most who love it are due to the realistic and sweet couple interaction, if you think those don’t add much to…
Oh sorry I sounded wrong haha. What I meant was that maybe the reason why I skipped some scenes is that I was more into heavy dramas. And this drama is definitely not a heavy one but rather a fluffy and cute one. So sorry about my wording.
I was thinking the same thing. If lots of those sweet moments are skipped, what else is that left to watch that…
Yeah I guess it's just not my taste AT THE MOMENT. I did skip a lot so I finished it around like 2 days or less. But setting that aside, I did enjoy most of its parts and this is definitely recommendable for a cdrama. I just shared my experience.
Most who love it are due to the realistic and sweet couple interaction, if you think those don’t add much to…
Yeah, I'm more into heavy dramas nowadays. Maybe that's why. But this is surely recommendable and great. Just not what I was looking for at the moment. I just shared what I experienced here.
This is definitely one of those feel-good dramas filled with fluff. There was no heavy dramas or big conflicts as it just focused more abt their relationship and how they grew as a couple. TBH, I did skip a lot of scenes where they're just having their sweet moments but that doesn't mean I don't like it, I just thought that it doesn't add much to the storyline that's why I skipped most of it. Overall, this is a pretty good drama if you're looking for something fluffy and of course, a visual couple.
It finally ended and I am very happy with the story. Overall, this helped Korean BL Dramas advance in the right direction, especially with screentime and number of episodes. Definitely one of my fav bl drama from Korea along with To My Star.
OMG SHINWOO ENDGAME FINALLY I CAN REST IN PEACE. ALSO, THE TEACHER'S ENDING IS SUGGESTING ANOTHER STORY.... MAYBE A SIDE STORY? ANOTHER SERIES? IDK BUT I LOVED IT SO MUCH
I’m currently at EP21 and tbh, I am kinda irritated with the “Stop Hao Yue from going abroad” agenda especially when his friends also came to stop him. Being separated with your childhood bestfriend is hard, I understand that, but I find it a bit immature for them to act the way they did. I’ve had 3 close friends who migrated to Europe and though we are not as close as before, I can ensure that we are still friends that catch up every once in a while. Lu Miao’s situation is understandable but I didn’t like how she didn’t think of what Hao Yue was going through at his own home. As someone who went through the same thing, I understand the feeling of being “left alone” but I reacted maturely because I know that they want it and it’s their choice. I was just so irritated with how everyone acted as if Hao Yue committed a heavy crime that they hold grudges.
This drama was so-so. It wasn't bad but it wasn't that good. I love their friendship dynamics. I am not a critical analytic and reviewer of series but I've watched a quite a lot of youth dramas and I personally would say that this wasn't the best for me. I wasn't hooked up and ended up skipping through most of the scenes that are not doing much for me.
The casts were great, esp the 2 Male Leads. I've learned a lot from their story. And I love the OSTs too. Soo Hyun deserves the world.
This is one of the CDramas where I didn't skip a lot of scenes nor put the speed to X2 (cuz I am too bored for some). Honestly, I think this drama brought something new to existing romance dramas because this is the first time I've watched a drama where E-Sports is very well emphasized.
Of all the great things that this series have, one thing I loved the most is its relevance to present-day society. From media, public figures, e-sport stereotypes, showbusiness, gender stereotypes, and most importantly, SOCIAL MEDIA. I am kinda happy that they emphasized the bad sides of social media for celebrities and people in general.
K and Cat's friendship tho. I really love them. K is such a handsome player, and I am willing to be your non-showbiz partner, just hit me up in my dms JK JK. Lu Sicheng (Xu Kai) really resembles that one Thai Actor, his name is Oab (@oabnithi)
Overall, a really great one. One of the best I've watched from China.
Now, I want to talk about the ending. As I've said, this is a story of missed opportunities along with family conflicts. It shows the bitter part of life as a gay teen in a conservative family. For most people, it's easy for them to say "Fight for your love" but in reality, it's not; there's so much more to it especially with Dew's family (he's an only child) so I understand their choices.
I found numerous similarities between my life and Best. Actually, watching the show took me for a trip down memory lane. For someone like them, you can't just risk admitting something you're not so sure about if your precious friendship is at stake. I didn't. And War didn't admit too and from that, it's really quite hard to let go because you're not given any closure for your feelings. Both of you just separated with feelings left unsaid, and that's quite painful and it can haunt you for a long time. I couldn't really express my thoughts about the ending, I have no words cuz I really relate to it.
But I have to say that I would consider this more of an 'open ending' rather than a sad one because no one really rejected each other. They still have ways of communication and they just both knew that they liked each other so in the future (when they both graduate), they can still find their way back to each other. When the time is right, when they're both ready. There's no certain conclusion for their story, but atleast they knew how they felt for each other and INDIRECTLY confessed to one another so things are possible for them.
Overall, the ending was indeed bittersweet. If you happen to be a gay teen who hopelessly fell in love with a man (or worse, a straight man), like me, and your story didn't have a happy ending as well, then you might also find this relatable. In today's society, though LGBTQ+ couples are more accepted, there are still lots of people who oppose same sex relationships, and those are mostly our parents. The ending may not be what we want it to be, and I would say that they could've done better because I honestly want a healthy portrayal of LGBTQ+ relationships in media, I would say that this is well done. A realistic view of teenage love as I saw myself in their stories.
I think this is a cliche done right. It felt annoying but realistic. From a teen gay guy's POV, this is hella relatable. I've been through it and I believe others had it as well. This is a story not far from what the actual world is. And here are the points I wanted to share.
-War and Yin's acting improved a lot. -They hinted a side couple (Bon and Win) but didn't really touched on them. Prolly because it's only 3 eps. -Basically, this is a common plotline but done correctly. While watching the first episode, I said that the story was nothing new but I got hooked up. I really did like the vibe of the setting, very youthful and vibrant. Fit for a highschool drama. - This drama is short yet it had me screaming because I saw Best in me. - This is just a story of missed opportunity along with family conflicts. - I symphatized with Fern at first but when she said those things to Dew's mother, I want to strangle her. Girl it's not your business. - This is probably a starting point, or some kind of promotion for their upcoming Love Mechanics. - Overall, a very good one. This definitely is among my PERSONAL favorites just because of how relatable it is.
