I don't think people are "canceling" the drama, it's not that crazy (I only read one comment that said they dropped but that user was iffy and sounded obtuse anyway). Especially since a lot more are liking where it's going. It's just reactionary response by episode. However, I think the minor criticism for the FL's actions because she betrayed Li Ni are unwarranted. Especially since Li Ni isn't stupid, lovestoned or not.

There are waaaaaay more scenes between them coming up and the lack of trust clearly will play a role in their relationship.

I'm crying T-T. A FL being very formidable and not putting aside her goals for a guy should be incredible to see in a Chinese drama. A gem.

I love the romance too and yeah it's deceitful but we all know the endgame anyway. It was never gonna be an easy road. You never know what Li Ni might do in the future too that would cause ire as well. Seeing them one up one another back and forth is pretty fun.

That's because we spent a few episodes with their great chemistry and rather light hearted banter and flirting. So naturally people loved it while forgetting the fact that this is 40 episodes and the setting is war, lol. Nothing historical with C-Dramas go smoothly for the couple.

The one thing I know about Xu Kai is that his kissing will never disappoint.

Ooooh, now we are getting into the character flaws after eps and eps of fluffy :P. From the trailers, I know Li Ni confronts her cause I remember seeing something of "how could I trust you!" shouted at her. I was afraid on how long they are going to keep up the lovey dovey stuff because it would have gotten old and this is a historical war drama. I want to feel other emotions other than "squee!". We are now getting more to the nitty gritty now that one of the leads effed up. Surprisingly it's the FL that goes first. I expect more to come considering their relationship seems tumultuous in the first place. I'm surprised people are this upset that the FL got one over him (as far as we know), when that should be celebrated imo. Yeah, it breaks the fluff back to reality but that was gonna happen anyway.

Just remember character development exists guys, lol. Y'all be forgetting this is a C-Drama xD.

Tbh, it feels that they are putting in the fluff before they start gutting the audience.

Opinions are fine, but you're kind of contradictory in a suspicious way. The above half seems more like personal preference (eye acting) rather than an actual objective view on it.

And then the latter half furthers the problem because you liked him in Yanxi Palace but at the same time you don't like his acting but at the same time you haven't seen anything else he's in other than Yanxi Palace + Royal Feast, as you so admitted, making your opinion on this matter even MORE flimsy and without much basis. So...lol. Pick a struggle.

It doesn't really matter since everyone [majority] is enjoying his acting, yet you're almost playing ping pong here.

For some reason, this man has dedicated haters, lol. They cannot stand him being successful (and still being successful despite their hardwork in bringing him down xDDD ). His selection of dramas recently have been fuel for them to hammer down on HIM (despite the issues mostly being on production, pacing, and narrative falacies). The first ratings were done, of course, by antis despite the drama being of decent quality so far. He also has black marketing in China (meaning people get paid to talk crap about him and whatnot).

He hasn't done anything to deserve it either. All he does is work and keeps to himself.

I guess it's the reality of the situation. But with him, I suggest you judge his dramas by yourself and/or read the comments on the MDL page instead of basing it on ratings. You'll get a good idea with real time audience reaction.

And those episodes that haven't aired were rated low due to antis/haters, which as you can see were busy doing what they must to rate it low. So of course people are going to try and balance out the toxic idiots.

We ALL know it's them anyway and not a testament of the drama's quality.

If anything, it's MDL that needs to rework their ratings to avoid hating arse wolves from their nastiness. And actually balance out the system. For example, the only ones that can leave reviews are the ones that write them out properly, users should be verified as well with activity history, and this by episode nonsense needs to end and the drama should be rated only after it's finished. Or there should be a ban from ratings until the drama is halfway through.

It's pretty normal for war ridden narratives, especially since, unfortunately, many armies used horses in the past due to lack of transport. It's in Western films too.

In other words this was the fate of many horses in reality :c. Thankfully things have changed and they don't need to be dependent on in modern times for battles, but damn is it sad to think about. Usually horses aren't hurt or put in danger when filming.

Nah, it's not cause they are idols. Myung Soo has done plenty kissing scenes that are nothing like that, lol. That is, if the actress is down for it. I think this was more a matter of the actor and actress comfort level.
