It's a massive problem if the main leads don't show gravitas in these stories. I like Kim Jae Won and love the fact that he shed his pretty boy look to actually look like a person that can actually fight. Unfortunately, his heroine, still, plays the same character she had always played before. It's a miscast. She gets overshadowed by Kim Gyu Ri.
It's like one of the reviews says, you'll use this as template to judge every long family drama and every time you will feel let down. I discovered this in 2015 and it's only recently that I see this getting so much love. I love long emotional storylines with characters I can connect with and for me this was godsend. Another nice work by the same writer is Family's Honor. But that one suffers much from the fact that none of the characters are identifiable.
I guess that's what happens when you don't marry right. No sympathy for middle aged menopause ridden women who destroy the lives of their families because 'we married too young' or 'I don't have an identity'. And then they taint their loins watching crap like this.
On a side note, as a home tutor during my college days, I am offended that anyone would think about starting something with a parent of one of his or her students. You deserve caning for that.
not even Ishihara can save this show. the script is just terrible. I won't argue on it being realistic because…
That 'aimless' bit is a trigger for some people in this day and age since its no longer a choice. Otherwise I agree. Also, 'beautiful'. A lazy aimless guy with an ugly woman is alright?

Wrong project for Kame here. This is a role that suited Zhu Ya Wen perfectly and he is a fantastic character actor. The humor is not there. The humor was the charm in the Chinese version which is the best version. Not the Japanese source movie which did not work fully in spite of having Nakama Yukie.
And yet again, infidelity by woman is shown with a sympathetic light in drama. Understanding the reason, the emotions all that. In case of the opposite it would be boot to the face and done. But, I digress, the main problem here is, the woman is not sincere in her apologies and if she is, it never comes through. From her actions it is clear she is like a liar whose lie has been caught and she is trying to make herself feel better. No man in his right mind would go back to a woman who had had an affair.
What's the difference between any of these business setting dramas? I'm bored to death with these. It feels like Isekai or something. Cut and dry and models and high heels and suits and expensive cars and face full of makeup and gaudy dresses and skyscrapers. Arrghhhh. P. S- Gap Zhi Ting is totally miscast here. His charm lies elsewhere. Not in this setting.
I really loved the drama. The fl's friend character could have been toned down. She was too annoying. For this script…
Boku no Ita Jikan is the original Japanese drama form where its taken. You mention the leads thats why I mention the original. Especially the male lead.
Some points I would like to make. First, I love how they took a remarkable but flawed Japanese original story and fine tuned it. Makes the story a lot better. Second, I love the interactions between the characters, they are much more fleshed out which is to be expected since this has longer runtime. Third, in spite of these positives, I just felt this drama lacks the sense of over arching foreboding sense that the original had which, maybe a cultural thing since the Japanese are much more cynical than the Chinese. And fourth, which relates to the feeling of overwhelming dread I spoke of, comes through, more than anything, through the eyes of Miura Haruma. If you know his story you would realize this is as close to the real person as it could have been. There was no way to describe the sheer terror of living in his eyes every time he had to emote with his eyes. That can never be duplicated. Its a chilling experience but works with this story.
Few things are more heartbreaking than to see the person you love get married to another person. Its hard, you get through it and then you forget it. So, when and if that person becomes single again, your feelings that you have shut out do not come out. It just does not happen. That is, if you have a brain and you don't just jump into things. It's very cute, second chance and all that but if one chance doesn't do it, its better to move on. There is no need to hold on. It will make you sick for no reason.
Does that mean they don't get together by the end? I'd love an end spoiler....happy, sad, open??
I liked this drama more as well. Although Liu Yifei was the first Chinese actress I knew the name of, I didnt quite like her in that drama. Zhou Yutong, she is amazing in these kinds of roles.

True. But you don't need to say that do you? I don't know if you've seen the last drama Li Xian did with Liu Yifei. There, I think, she has almost similar motivation to this character. Polar opposites but the motivation was the same. I must also confess that I had not yet finished the series when I posted the original comment and it was right after the attempted sex scene. I was a bit ticked off too lol. That being said, she did grow that I agree. Although how many lovers would have the patience to deal with the initial pull and push I don't know.

I don't know if I offended anyone but it's the outgoing personality that is a problem. I love outgoing people and her character goes very well with the ML. But, think about this, you are having this great moment with your lover, everything is in peace but suddenly you hear, 'I like you but I love the big city more'. Why say that in those intimate moments? It's demoralising. It's every single time they have a moment. Any positivity she brings evaporates with that. That's my issue. Nothing against the drama nothing against the portrayal of the woman but it's a flaw and that is the reason why the ML was so guarded and insecure with her. Which lover wouldn't?
I would not wish a lover like the FL to my worst enemy. My comment is not about the drama but the character of the lady. In real life, men who have foresight will avoid that girl like a plague. She wont commit, but will flirt. It is such a headache. This is not a gender issue by the way, its a character issue. The writer has very conveniently wrapped a flaw in character with some feminist discourse to make it more palatable. But the core of the issue is very simple, if you can not commit don't get involved in an emotional level.
These Hong Kong dramas never fail to answer my expectations. Rushed, incoherent and hollow.
If you read the synopsis and expect a nice little romance do not bother because it is the romance or whatever it is supposed to be that keeps it from being decent.
I guess the writer doesn't realize that married exes are an absolute turn off. Especially if you are the one that was jilted.
This subject matter hits my nerve in a very uncomfortable manner. The entitlement of kids, and the parents, of this day and age, and the ways in which your hands are tied as teachers made me so helpless that I gave up halfway on my teacher training course which is compulsory for teaching in my country. Even though that was the one goal I had in mind while deciding my career and that is how I prepared my resume.
Anyway, one thing I noticed, right at the start of the drama there was the rooftop scene which, as much as it emphasized certain students and their behavior, never really hit home on the fact that there was a crowd there that enjoyed what happened there. Throughout the drama it only focused on a few students and depicted them as sociopaths and entitled and whatnot. What we have been taught about stopping bullying and ostracization is that you have to look at the entire student body to really have any hope of a solution. That played no part in this drama. The murderer was caught and all was well. Doesn't work like that.
Why is no one even talking about this? And I mean the plot, not the actor playing the male lead. XDUsually not…
This is slice of life youth drama. Story is as smooth as you will find in a Thai drama. Slice of life. A Thai drama. You can make you own judgment why the regular Thai watching crowd would not comment on it.
Its the older cast that steals the show however.
