100% - don't forget that his army and the TM army have been fighting/killing each other for years at the borderline. GY is probably the first one that they need to kill because he is their greatest enemy. I felt even more important then their king since GY holds the largest army.

Yeah, I don't think he is as charming, as crazy, or as smart of Wang Pu but at least in my mind Wang Pu's action is for the bigger picture. He may be outsmarted by XHA but he holds his ground and is a worthy opponent in my book but why I hate SCL so much is that he is not even smart enough, just very well at deceiving and tricking people (not on XHA or YFS's level too). It's like his character is not even part of the overall plan or plot but on the side causing trouble and heartache to us audience. To your point, killing and hurting XQ or YZ will bring sadness to XHA but it will only make XHA even more determined on his mission.

I love the drama but there are to many characters. it is hard for me to keep up sometimes.
Which is why this is the first drama in a long time that I rewind backward then fast forward because every characters have their background and each death is meaningful in a way if you watch it slowly.

-Ye Zheng better be alive, I want to see the trio reunited! -Poor Gu Yu, his life is just too sad for a person as good as him! -XHA, his family revenge is completed but now it is his country revenge - this guy can't get a break can he...and his expression after killing YFS as he walked in the lonely street with the snow recalling his whole life, I can feel a sense of peace within him...........and then the doctor have to come and spoil it. -XHA will have it tougher now, at least with YFS, he knows his enemy but this mystery person, no clue who he is and he already have the upperhand...been at it for 30 years...absolutely insane opponent to defeat...sigh

Absolutely! It is the actor responsibility to act and make sure he effectively portray his character and scene but everything surrounding the actor should be prepared and ensured safely by the production. What I am trying to express is that Cheng Yi is a very dedicated actor who make sure the way he acts and the way things are act out is coherent and logical. I thought this is really the responsibility of the director who is filming it but Cheng Yi is completely into his character and plot that he will question these things indicated he is a truly valuable actor.
There is one thing I also want to point out that I find refreshing - Many of XHA's plot involved putting himself in danger... he does not have a strong force behind him - not his own army or even a large number of allies. Hence, many times he had to be the one facing these people, seeing all of his enemies, meeting them face to face, convincing (more like threatening) or playing a part to the plan. Every single time, he could have died, he is risking his life over and over again because this is his revenge, he have to be part of it which makes it even more convincing. Why would anyone risk their own life to help him? He have to be the one doing most of the work.
At this point, this is no longer a sweet revenge plot as if the male lead can predict/plot against its enemy and they keep falling into his plan - what we see is the lead and his side are not without flaws but we still root for them and we see the human side of the bad and they are not all evil, just different positions/side of the chessboard.
