In the beginning I was wondering why HuaiAn need a second coin when he only needs to enter once - I thought he is saving it for another entrance or something, but I completely did not expect him to use it to threaten the old lady!
A lot of time, I was curious about why ChengYi acted this way in the beginning, exposing himself to others and not scared at all (e.g. in front of Du Li and the old lady) and THEN it turns out everything is in his plan! lol
Who would have thought that the two scholars (One recommend by the Advisor and one recommend by the General) and both don't know Martial Art, went into the evil den to be spies (one to create fake passport and the other to throw out trash) It is sooooo funny to me lolllllllll
This is the first time that I wish they dragged out the premiering schedule because I don't want this to end anytime soon. I keep going back to rewatch the episodes and I don't mind them taking the time to release since I am finding things every time I rewatch. I don't want any SVIP express package at the end lol
I love the pacing of this drama - every time they introduced something new, by the end of the episode, we get…
when they introduced the soldiers with their ghost story, I was thinking this is a bit random, then the wheelchair guy appeared and I got it. This is his army. Then I kind of expected that the ambush will happen, but I was thinking they are going to kill the wheelchair guy so that he did not get a chance to hand over his army to the emperor or blame it on the emperor...BUT I didn't see it coming that they will be so arrogant to kill the group of army and disposed/displayed them in the middle of the street!!! So arrogant and then kidnap the guy...can't wait for the next episode!!!
I love the pacing of this drama - every time they introduced something new, by the end of the episode, we get to understand how this get weaved into the overall plot. No draggy or irrelevant plot or dialogue! So refreshing!
I can't get this drama out of my head!!! I rewatched it two times already and still want to rewatch for a third time while waiting for new episodes lol
Another revenge drama where ml is weak and pathetic and doesn't do anything except talk n talk
You almost got me thinking you are a viewer until you say the word talk - this drama has the least talk I have seen so far, all dialogues have it purposes and meaning. Male lead - I don't need to talk to you, I just want to kill you
I heard that the "The Art of War (孙子兵法)" is used throughout the drama - is there anyone who is good in Chinese to help us translate and understand a bit more on this? I am super interested!
Bai Guan attacking him too was superb..the two siblings are a TEAM.
Yes, at first I thought they planned it together but then I realized even at the beginning BG always have a knife with her. Smart girl who takes advantage when opportunity presented itself lol
At ep1 the timestamp 24:18, when the ML says:“Everyone is dead. There’s no use in clearing their name. I’m…
oh yes, I love that too. Names, reputation, sentiment is no use in his mind. They are dead and won't know or need to clear their names. Just retribution to the killer. Eye for an eye. Simple as that lol
Is it only Xiehuaian who feels really attached to his father? because Bai Guan didn't cry when he found the grave…
She was probably very young when this happen, unlike HuaiAn who is older and his father died in front of him. Plus she grown up with a good family. Hence, I believe she is not as emotionally attach as HuaiAn. Whereas HuaiAn probably grow up with these men that killed his father, on top of the fact that he blamed himself for giving the opportunity for his uncle to kill his father that can potentially be saved.
OMG! I love how Huai An go straight to the point (heart) of things, no wasting time talking or explaining, just get the deed done. So clean cut. For those that watched the ending of ep6 will know what I mean. :)
I just finished the first 4 episodes and this is the first time I have to keep hitting the backward button instead…
After the first 4 episodes, a couple of things still linger in my mind that I hope to be resolved later: - What is the plan for that 'dog'/prior emperor? I do not like his character at all and I feel like eventually he will bite Huai An again. I was so angry that he killed the kind hearted Zhang Mo. I was hoping for a twist there but unfortunately, he is really dead. I also want to learn more about his story with Huai An. Is it simply a servant and master story?
-I feel like they will slowly reveal more and more on Huai An's past as he fulfill his revenge, like I am very curious about the dead person that is buried in the field (or near the lake). One of the 6 people he is taking revenge on. When he is standing there talking about the 6 people, the first one he said something about I control whether he live or die, I was so confused at first what he meant but later on when they revealed the identity of the painted face guy I got it lol Nice set up on that one and seeing both bad guy fighting against each other and Huai An is just standing there watching was awesome.
Honestly, at the beginning with only a few scenes of his father death, I can't really relate to Huai An's all hell bent on revenge (I seen too much drama with main lead's whole family dying that I am a bit immune to it by now so I get it but never seen it portrayed the way Huai An is so cold and distant) but it finally got to me at the end of episode 4 and there were flash back of Huai An as a kid and the painted face guy teaching him to be a man and have his first drink/alcohol. It finally hit me that those men that killed his family and betrayed his father are all buddies/friends/uncle to him when he is growing up which makes the betrayal so much worst... poor Huai An...
