My interpretation was when they first promotion this drama, it is a mystery drama where our leads solved cases by cases, hence the term casebook.

If you think about it from the beginning, LLH's character is true to his nature till the end. He never hope/think that he will live beyond the 10 years. All he really wants is to be left alone and live out his life the way he likes it. When DFS said he will look for the flower to cure him, he refuses, when FDB said he will look for the flower to cure him, he said his poison is uncurable. He never gave them hope nor does he tried to intertwine into their life, it is always FDB and DFS who seek him out and want him in their lives. (nothing wrong with that, I want a LLH in my life too lol) I honestly think if he has a chance to continue his life without any baggage, he will take it. Unfortunately, the flower is not the answer because he needs to give that to the king to set FDB and his family free. I think if he can really live on, he will find a secluded area to live out the rest of his life. Agree with your point that he is very selfless but at the same time, you admire him for it. He could have not done a lot of the saving of others to extend his life span but chose to use himself till the very end for others. Another way to see this (especially in FDB and DFS's view) is that he is actually very selfish in terms of living his own life and choosing his own ending, because he did not consider how hurt FDB and DFS would be if he disappears like that. He should know that they will continue to look for him as they are best friends now, but he rather disappears than give them closure.

I prefer if they do another entirely different story - I am in the minority that I like the ending as is but would love to see them in different characters and plot :)

I think it is hinted that they were together for the 5 years. When the students from ZJ class ask her whether the writer of the book, FYX is her boyfriend, they said he always come back (maybe he hangs out there a lot because of ZJ) and introduce himself as ZJ's boyfriend. The student ask if ZJ can help ask FYX questions about their project/term paper on his book. ZJ naturally said she can call him now - which in my way of thinking is that she is constantly in touch and close with FYX these past years. As for FYX's proposal, I think since he brought her home house, he thinks it is time to try again and convince her to be his wife. He literally didn't wait much longer, once he got the key to the house, he proposed on the spot. So sweet...

I think they are related, no sure the order of the plots but I think Cheng Yi's character is friend to Gong Jun's character in his drama and son of Liu Shi Shi in her drama.

His main fault is believing the good in his family - when he found out about his mother's threat to ZJ, he immediately went to confront her even in his weak condition - He threatened her back but when she tried to take the pill, he started begging her. When he realized that he can no longer protect ZJ, he made the only choice he can to prevent further harm to ZJ. He never tolerated his family wrong doing but try his best to fix it in his own way.

So happy!!! There were so many rumors of his next drama that I no longer believe anyone of them and this dropped out of nowhere. Happy that he will pair up with LYT again!!! Waiting impatiently for a glimpse of his costume... hehe

It just came to my mind that if FXZ is smart and really want to revenge on JSN, he should continue to be FYS 'good brother' and pursue him to go against his mother, such as gave him the plant patent so that he can concentrate on his laboratory work, encourage him to be with ZJ (help them get married) which will stop any possibility of him merging with ZZ and let FYS know all his mom's wrongdoing. That way JSN will lost her mind then slowly scheme her out of the company. At the end FXZ will get the company and his revenge without harming the innocent FYS. P.S. the audience will admire him more and his character is more likable. Instead... all the side characters are annoying at this point.

I took back my saying that I love to see CY suffer...this is too much... the worst is that it is all cause by other ppl close to him... :( I am at a point where I wish everyone just disappear and leave our leads alone

It's ok if one series support another series that is going to premiere with the same director but the message behind it is a huge turn off for MLC fans - I believe they said they shipped LLH's home/vehicle to the other drama??? Which doesn't make sense and MLC fans know how important the vehicle is to LLH, it is a symbol of his freedom, his current lifestyle and his signature identity. It would be better if they use some other language to support but delivering LHL to the other drama is such bad promotion...

@Euphoria Did you read the first novel? The one on the brother - I am curious about what is FYS's like in that novel - Heard his character is not likeable in that novel because it is in his brother perspective.

FYS is ideal as a brother, a son, a boyfriend & a husband... we need more of his type in real life *sigh*

He is very likable - if memory serve right, he is ZJ's partner as over the border doctor/best friend. He proposed to ZJ but ZJ thought it was a joke because she thought he is gay (he never clarifyed that with her because I think he just want to be her friend by her side). He has a rich family but he rather be a doctor than inherit his fortune. The likeable quality of him is that he knows ZJ have someone in her past that she still love and he never express his love for her but was contained to be by her side. At the end, he saved her from the warzone but died himself without ever letting ZJ know that he loves her.

He is memorable to me because he was an a** to LLH and FDB in the healing head/vase case lol
