Love that it's over

I absolutely hated this show from start to finish. The only reason I give this a 1.5 instead of a 1 is because of two reasons: the mermaid scenes were actually filmed in the water, and they trained with the tails; and secondly because of the scene in the finale where Phraphai went crazy was actually good.

This show was so terribly bad that I genuinely cannot say enough bad things about it and could go on all day. I'm just going to list the reasons it was awful.

1. All the acting was terrible (except for Phraphai's scene in the finale I previously mentioned)

2. The main leads had 0 chemistry at all. Nava and Phraphai had more chemistry than the other two ever did

3. So many unnecessary characters whose names I couldn't even tell you if I tried. Didn't really need more than the main five to be honest

4. The music,,,whoever did the music for this should never work in music again. That may sound harsh but the abrupt transitions between songs and the music not fitting scenes were just terrible. Someone with garage band could do better.

5. The main couple's relationship was so empty. They never talked about anything. they felt more like friends with benefits because their relationship had no depth at all.

6. Not enough time was spent on Ping and Phana's relationship. This couple could've been quite a likeable and strong couple if they got more than like 30 minutes out of an entire 8 hours spent on them. They should've either had more time or just not been a thing at all.

7. The plot felt pointless especially with how the show ended. I almost wish it ended with a tragedy to make it feel more worth it. I'm not just saying that because I didn't like the show either, I just think it would've made more sense for the plot if one or both of then died in the end or they just didn't end up together.

8. The whole show just felt like nothing was happening the entire time. This was only eight episodes and even that felt way too long.

I could actually keep going but these were definitely my biggest and most consistent complaints.

We LOVE PREGNANT MEN

I love that this show really dove into all the ABO stuff. I think if you're going to do an ABO show you have to really go for it, and this show definitely did.

I think the four main characters were really interesting. I loved them all for different reasons and the actors killed it. I loved seeing Wenlang's growth throughout the series! I wish Hua Yong could've had some kind of character development, but he didn't and some people never change, so I guess it's okay.

My only complaint is the ending. I wish we got more from Gao Tu and Wenlang. I wish we got to see them have an actual conversation about everything. I wanted them to end up together but even if they didn't it would've been nice for them to get more screentime towards the end. It just felt unsatisfying. I also thought the time jump was abrupt and made it so certain things were skipped over that shouldn't have been. They're ending just felt like the creators didn't care about it anymore towards the end.

This show was missing baby bumps. Wanted to see them with actual baby bellies.

I really liked this series though! Definitely different and very interesting! Can't wait to see the actors in things in the future!

Fantastic start, unenjoyable finish

It started off so good. I was eating it up. It was toxic but it was supposed to be, great I love to see it that’s fine. I loved the first half or so. Fan Xiao was toxic and manipulative and it made the show really fun to watch, as awful as that sounds, it was fun seeing him worm his way in between Shu Lang and his boyfriend. I even loved when Fan Xiao and Shu Lang got together...at first.

Where the show really started to lose me is when Fan Xiao went from toxic to straight up abusive and a r*pist. I'll watch a toxic relationship all day long, but the second r*pe or assault comes in is where it's enjoyable anymore. I knew I was signing up for toxicity but not abuse so it very much threw me off. There were multiple scenes where Shu Lang clearly didn't want Fan Xiao and was forced to sleep with him or kiss him, and the show just kept throwing in scenes where Fan Xiao “realizes” what he’s doing is wrong and “apologizes” but the way they do it is like they want us as the audience to actually forgive him. Like girl what?? He literally just assaulted Shu Lang. Or they would have scenes where the show is like “No guy's Shu Lang stays because wants to” like GIRL NO HE DOES NOT. Why did we take this turn?? I hate it. Why does toxicity always have to mean SA? It was plenty entertaining and toxic enough before all that.

I hated that they ended up together too. I was really hoping this show would be different and would have it so Shu Lang actually moves on and goes on with his life happily, which he does, and then they ruined it in the last 10 minutes or so but putting them back together.

Like I said, I loved the first half maybe even a bit more of this show. The main two as well as Shu Lang's boyfriend were enjoyable to watch, and I really found the story entertaining. Once they made Fan Xiao turns so possessive that he was abusive is where I really didn't like his character anymore.

As for things I liked
-I loved the chemistry between the main two actors. They did a great job as well as the rest of the cast, but the mc's really stood out to me
-The story was never boring, even when I didn't like where it went, at least it wasn't boring.
-I LOVED seeing Fan Xiao go absolutely broke at the hand of Shu Lang. He deserved it.
-I love that Shu Lang adopted Tian Tian! So cute!
-The first half of the show is what I want when it comes to toxic relationships to watch! It makes it so fun to see!
-I really liked the finale. Even though I didn't want them to end up together and wasn't happy about that, I think the finale was really good.
-The kisses and spicey scenes were pretty good

Overall, I just don't know how to feel about it because I went from being so excited for the next episode to dreading the next one.

Assault with a side of consent

This show was awful. The concept of it had such potential to be great and it fell so flat. It would've been instantly better if it was supernatural show. Big Jane should've been an actual demon and it would've made the show way more interesting. These writers and show makers are always so afraid to commit to things. If you want a dark and twisted romance, then do it. Instead, they all advertise it as one and then just show hints of it throughout the series or throw in assault and r*pe and call it good enough. Dark romance is a lot more than that, but they never fully commit to it, and this show is a perfect example of that. This show had a lot of red flag characters and a lot of assault and that was basically it.

Like I said before, Big Jane should've been an actual demon. The deals he was making with people would've made more sense that way for how they happened. He was causing miracles to happen at the snap of a finger, it would fall apart just as fast, and he had the necklaces with people's blood, but it was just because he was a rich dude who could make it happen? Why? If he was a demon, it would've made sense, why he needed their blood and why these people's requests happened so quickly. It also would've made him way more intimidating. He was supposed to be this scary guy on campus, but he was not any more intimating than just a basic toxic man. He was a huge red flag, assaulted little Jane multiple times which was not okay, he had no growth throughout the series at all even after the time skip and just had no likeable qualities at all.

Little Jane just annoyed me throughout almost the entire series. He was so boring and never seemed to know what he wanted. He wanted to know how Big Jane lived but then would just get upset at everything he said or did, but never at the things that he should be upset about. For example, Big Jane saved Little Jane's family from the brother's debt and never once asked them to leave their house or shop and yet Little Jane got upset with him for their family having to move even though Big Jane NEVER SAID THEY HAD TO. This is just one of the MANY times he did this. He just never seemed to know what he wanted and was constantly changing his mind about things and getting upset over it. He really didn't have much of a personality either and wasn't very likeable.

Dan was way too obsessed for Little Jane and for no reason. He was constantly stalking him and making him uncomfortable. Him going crazy in the finale didn't surprise me for how psychotic he was throughout the rest of the show, but it still left me wondering why he ever got so obsessed with him in the first place. I didn't like either of the Janes, but I really hated this dude. Speaking of characters I hate...Put. He, like Dan, was so obsessed with Jane. He also assaulted Jane. I was so happy when he died because he was just a piece of garbage. I don't get why everyone was so obsessed with him, but they were. Once again like Dan, we don't really ever find out why he was obsessed with Little Jane either. I know they both liked him but there should've been more than that.

The spice in the show was fine (on the few occasions it was consensual), the finale was fine and had the most happening in the entire show, the acting was okay, but god the rest of this show was such a mess. It was so boring, had the most unlikeable characters, had so much assault, and just horrible writing. It just felt like the writers didn't know if they wanted to commit to the dark romance the entire time. I haven't seen a lot of the actors before, so I don't know if it's a case of bad actors or just bad writing. Absolutely do not recommend.

They're cute but the plot is a little boring

I enjoyed this show for the most part. I liked Lu Qing and Xiao Fan as characters and liked them a lot together. They were both pretty interesting and I liked seeing all the changes of their relationship throughout the years. Lu Qing's sister and Xiao Fan's family annoyed me so much the entire show, especially the brother. I liked the Bei family's dad a lot, he always seemed really calm and understanding about a lot of things. I do think the show got pretty boring towards the end with all the stuff about the stock market. I just didn't care for any of that and was very bored during it all. The best scenes in the show for me were when Lu Qing and Xiao Fan were together.

A waste of a good cast

I'll start with the positives because to be honest, I don't have a lot for this show. So first off, I love In Youp and Hye Ri so much!! I love him and was so happy to see him finally be the main lead and not the second choice! I love her as well and was happy to see her in something again since it's been a while. I think their chemistry is fantastic and the acting was great. I loved Baek Sung Chul and Lee Yul Eum as well as their characters. I think all the actors did a great job in this show.

I liked the concept of the show as well. I thought it was very cute to see them make their movie together after all those years. I loved that, it was so sweet. The music was pretty decent in the series as well. I absolutely adored the set and the costumes for the movie!! Stunning!

I loved Soobin. He was such a green flag, good guy, and cared so much for Yi Jae and his mom. I loved that he helped his mom get away from his dad too. I really liked how he handled most situations in the show.

I love Ha Na and Yu Geon so much! I thought both of their characters were really interesting and LOVED them together a lot. They were so cute together. They were my favorite couple in the show. I loved seeing Ha Na's growth throughout the show and see her stand up to her mom and get to live how she wants to. See Yu Geon work so hard to achieve his dream was so nice to see. The part with his dad getting to watch his movie before passing was the best part of the whole show. It made me so emotional and was so beautiful to see.

Onto the things I didn't like about this show.
I wish we got to see a bit more of the movie since that's what the show was leading up to. We just kept seeing the same few scenes from it over and over again. I think it would've been cool to see more of it so we as the audience could see more of what they accomplished. I think it would've been more satisfying that way.

This could just be me being picky, but for a show about two directors, I thought the directing was pretty mid. There was nothing special about the directing at all. I know it's a romcom, so it doesn't necessarily need it, but it was very basic and with a show about directors I think it could've used a bit of flare.

The third couple...if we can even call them that. I don't know their names and forgot about them entirely until they showed up again for their two minutes of screentime. I know he has a role outside of his storyline with her, but honestly, I think they both could've been written out of the show and it would've been the exact same, especially her. Their storyline has got to be the most useless thing I've ever seen in a show.

Onto Yi Jae...I liked her a lot in the beginning and then that changed. I loved her in the high school flashbacks and in the first couple episodes as an adult. She was funny, determined, and I really liked how she talked about wanting to make movies and what that meant to her. Then she just started to annoy me more and more. I felt like she was always upset or angry with Soobin for one reason or another, and I didn't ever think they were for very valid reasons either. He was just a way better communicator than she was. Her decision to breakup with him and go abroad felt so random and stupid to me. It very much felt like they just needed to have some kind of conflict for episode 11 and that's the best they could come up with. Making this movie was her dream and she left before the final edit was even done and wasn't there for any of the promotion. So much of the conflict between her and Soobin throughout was she felt like it was his movie more than hers and yet she leaves so he does all the promotion by himself so then it really does look like it was his movie more than hers. That was just such bad writing.

I liked how early in the show they got together and didn't wait until one of the final episodes, except we never saw them really be a couple. We saw them either onset of the movie, working on something related to the movie, or talking about the movie. We didn't really get to see very much of them just being themselves as a couple, so their relationship didn't progress or feel satisfying at all. And again, she left for two years and then walked right back into his life like nothing happened...and then he proposed. This really pissed me off. She didn't feel bad for leaving him and left at an awful time, but then they just get engaged after that like he wasn't doing horribly the time she was gone. I could talk about it all day, it made me so mad. We also just always saw him doing way more for her and putting in more effort for their relationship than she ever did.

Overall, as you can tell, I didn't like this show. The writing wasn't very good and was very repetitive. Every episode was just her feeling like the movie wasn't hers, she'd get mad at Soobin, he'd do something to make her see the movie is both of theirs, and then it would repeat. Even Soobin's trauma with his dad just felt like such an afterthought. It was barely important to the show at all. This had such an incredible cast, and I was really excited for it, but it was just a major let down.

Sky and Nani's chemistry is insane!

This was pretty good overall. I do think some of the earlier episodes were better paced and more interesting than some of the later episodes, especially when it came to the finale. I didn't care for the finale at all. It didn't really feel exciting enough or like there was a lot happening but also didn't feel like a good aftermath either. A lot felt like it was wrapped really quickly or really drawn out and there wasn't ever a good in between. I did like the plot overall and loved seeing all the stuff with the different rituals, especially when they were all in the smoke facing different things.
I liked all the characters that were with us for the ritual. I loved Niran and Pete a lot. This was my introduction to Sky and Nani and loved their chemistry a lot. Niran was a really cool character. I liked how committed he was to Pete, and I really liked how he talked about his morals and things like that. I loved Pete! He was my favorite character. I loved how he was a badass in moments and so cutie in others.
I do have to say that Niran and Pete definitely felt like queer baiting a bit. The golden string soulmate thing aside (which is already pretty crazy), there were lots of moments of flirting, looks of love, the scene of Pete hugging Niran in the spirit world, and so many others that were very romantic and then nothing came out of it. I know it's not advertised as a BL, but I don't see why have all that if nothing is going to come out of it.

A big mess but sometimes it's okay

I want to start this by saying I did watch Only Friends: Dream On before I watched this and I am definitely more biased towards season two. This season had so much happening but also nothing happening at the same time. There was a lot of plot but all of them were just so drawn out that I just got annoyed. This show was messy, which I'm here for, but a lot of times the mess felt like it had no purpose other than to make the show more interesting rather than it having an actual purpose.

Characters and couples:
Sand: I love First let me say that right off the bat. Absolutely love him! As for Sand, he was the character that had the least amount of drama, was the most reasonable and level-headed, caring, and definitely the kindest out of all the characters. He was in my top three characters throughout the whole show. I really enjoyed his character a lot. The only time he really bugged me was when his ex came into the picture and he kept hesitating if he still had feelings or not, other than that I loved him a lot throughout.
Ray: I love love love Khaotung so much!! Ray was my favorite character by the time the show was done. He was a huge mess don't get me wrong, but I loved the depth of his character, and I loved how much he grew over the show. You could really tell by the end that he wanted to be a better person by going to rehab and by trying to get along with Top, etc. He had a lot of issues throughout the show with Mew, Sand, Top, Boston, his drug and alcohol addiction, and family issues. I think he was for sure the biggest mess in the show, but he had a depth to his character that I felt everyone else was missing.
Sand & Ray: I think they have the best chance of making long term when it comes to the couples. They're really good for each other and care so deeply for each other. They were my favorite couple from the start through to the end (it could be because I'm also such a big fan of FirstKhaotung too). I liked seeing how their relationship changed throughout the show a lot.

Top: I hated this man the first part of this show and then somehow, he became one of the most likable in my opinion. I don't think he really cared for Mew at all in the beginning and truly did just want to sleep with him. I think it was shortly after he slept with Boston again that he realized he was starting to really like Mew and really regretted cheating on him. He was so unlikable the first few episodes of the show and I was pretty happy with his growth over the show.
Mew: He went from being my favorite character to someone I was just pissed at constantly. I swear after he lost his glasses, he just became a completely different character and I didn't like it. I'm not talking about him being upset that he was cheated on either, because who wouldn't be upset about that. He was doing drugs, drinking a lot, dating Ray even though he didn't care about him like that, doing shady stuff, and was just pissing me off all the time. By the end, he did get a bit better again, but I just felt mixed about his character by the time the show wrapped. I will say I loved that he never forgave Boston.
Top & Mew: Now I know they were together again by the time the show was done & they did make an appearance in S2, but I don't think they'll last forever to be honest. We really didn't see them having anything in common and I don't think Mew will ever get over what happened. They are cute together don't get me wrong, I just can't see them lasting long term.

Boston: I hated him every second of the show and that never changed. I didn't care for him in S2 either, but this was so much worse. If you want to be a single and sleep around then do it, I have no issue with, but sleeping with your best friends boyfriend? Sleeping with your best friends brother? Cheating on your boyfriend? Absolutely not. Top cheated too but you can tell he regretted it and knew it wrong. Boston never was truly sorry or saw what was wrong with any of it. He played with Nick's feelings too and never saw an issue with that either. I just hated him every second of the show.
Nick: Other than sleeping with Boston, he felt so unattached from the show. He really didn't have any importance other than being Boston's f*ck buddy/boyfriend. He was fine, but not really that exciting. I am glad he broke up with Boston in the end because he deserves better than that.
Boston & Nick: They were bad together and am glad they aren't together anymore.

The girls were so unimportant in the show I'm not going to bother writing anything more about them.

Also need to mention how crazy it was that everyone was kissing everyone. Insane!! So tea!! I did enjoy the show, I just think the script was all over the place in moments and some things were very drawn out.

Too long

This show was pretty cute and wholesome, but honestly quite boring. The story of our two main characters so sweet and I loved how they helped each other grow as people and as artists. It was so beautiful seeing Deok Chul follow and live out his dreams as a ballerino. The dancing in this was well done too. Ballet is just so beautiful. The show is just a little long in my opinion, so it felt kind of drawn out. Eun Ho's storyline to me was the most boring thing about the show. She was so uninteresting and so was her whole storyline. Overall, it's not bad but I can definitely see why a lot of people don't care for it.

Put Mingee on season 6

I really liked the winter getaway more than the rest of the reunion to be honest, and I loved that the getaway was mainly just Heesun and Subeen. They have such incredible chemistry, and I was so happy to see more of them. I will say it did end very abruptly, like there was supposed to be more and there just isn't. I do wish we got to see a bit more from the people who left together but didn't make it, but I'm glad we got an update of where they were all at during their screenings.

I hope Subeen and Heesun as well as Jaejin and Jooyoung stay together!! I know they're all still together as I'm writing this!

A beautiful and tragic story

Finally checked out this movie and I am so glad I did!! If I could give this more than 10 stars, I would. This is an incredibly beautifully tragic film. I went into this knowing nothing more than the title and knowing people cried when they watched it and nothing else. I'm really glad I went into it that way, so everything was a surprise to me.

I loved both Jae Won and Seo Yun so much. They were both such likable characters. I love how kindhearted Jae Won was and how fun Seo Yun was. They had the cutest relationship with each other too! I knew something was up with Jae Won as soon as he gave that weird excuse to why he didn't like sports.

They're story is so beautifully tragic, it's the only way I can think to describe it. I sobbed during the last 25 or so minutes. I haven't cried that hard over a piece of media since Mr. Plankton or Life Gives You Tangerines. I had a feeling this story would end sadly but didn't realize just how emotional it would be. This film is perfect and I have absolutely no notes. Huge shout out the actors as well, this was incredible.

JUSTICE FOR HYUNJAE

This is the first season I've checked out of this show, and I have to say I really liked it! I'm not the biggest watcher of reality tv but my friend suggested this one, so I wanted to try it. I have seen part of the reunion as I'm writing this, but I'm going simply off of the show itself.

I really enjoyed this! The games were really fun, I especially enjoyed the guy game in the water. I liked most of the cast, some I thought were boring but I'll get into that. I do wish they didn't spend so much time on Mina Sue and Goeun. They both just got annoying pretty quickly and I was tired of seeing them. I was pretty happy as well with how all the people were coupled up!

For the cast!

Starting with the guys:
-Subeen: He was top three most attractive men on the show for me. I really liked him at first and then was a little unsure about him, then really loved him in the end! He's really sweet and I'm glad we got to see him open up more as the show went on. I think he's super charming and has great chemistry with everyone, but I'm glad he ended up with Heesun in the end.

-Seungil: The seasons it boy. He was also super attractive to me, especially his smile/smirk. He was so kind from the very start which made me really like him. I was rooting for him and Mingee the entire time as well, so I was happy they left together. My favorite moment of his is when him and Mina were in paradise and he called her out for everything she was doing. He really spoke for the audience there.

-Sunghun/Sam: I'm not going to lie I hated this man until his paradise with Heesun. I feel like that was the first time we got to see his true personality and learn more about him. Before that we only really saw him with Mina and I just didn't care for his vibes. In the end he did grow on me but he still wasn't even in my top 5. I wasn't shocked he left with Mina either. Bro had the worst luck ever throughout the show.

Hyeonwoo: He is such a big teddy bear and such a sweetheart. I think the people watching/fans were way too harsh on him for his paradise with Goeun. It obviously didn't go well, but I think he was just nervous. I do think he was a bit of a boring guy, but he was sweet. I wasn't shocked he left by himself. Major props to him too for giving up his paradise too.

Sungmin: I loved this little yapper. He was in my top 5 choices from start to finish. I was a bigger fan of him than I think most were. I wasn't shocked when Goeun chose him either because I knew there had to be a reason she couldn't let him go. Overall I really enjoyed when he was on screen.

Igeon: I recognized him right away from the show the Trunk, so I thought it was cool an actor was on here. That being said, I was not a fan of him to be honest. He was way too cocky for my liking from the start. He just seemed kind of fake to me as well. I think it was maybe because he tried to act cool and nonchalant all the time. He had incredible chemistry with Goeun right from the start, but his cockiness (and talking about another woman constantly) is what bit him in the ass in the end.

Hyunjae: MY NUMBER ONE PICK FROM THE BEGINNING. These girls must've been blind. I still do not understand how he was the least popular out of all the men. Him and Subeen were the most attractive part of the entire cast to me. He also just has such a charming, sweet, and comforting personality. I was happy to see he was one of the most popular amongst the fans/people watching because I really didn't get why no one wanted him. I knew Jooyoung wouldn't pick him in the end, but I still felt bad for him. If these girls don't want him. I'll gladly take him.

Jaejin: Straight up I didn't like this man from start to finish. I never understood why he was the most popular and I still don't. His "I don't care" attitude annoyed me so much. I love him with Jooyoung don't get me wrong. I think they're perfect together. That being said he just annoyed me the entire time.

Now for the girls:
Mingee: The it girl of the season!! My number one girl from start to finish! I love her so much! She's such a baddie! She was the most attractive girl to me too. I loved her chemistry with Seungil so much. I love that if she wants something, she will fight to get it. I feel bad that she had a bit of hard time throughout the series, but I was very happy her and Seungil left together in the end.

Mina Sue: When she first came in up until the truth game, I loved her. I thought she was stunning and she gave off classy vibes...but omg was that vibe wrong. Her constant back and forth was so irritating. I'm totally for wanting to explore other options in a situation like this, that being said she was too much. They just spent way too much time on her. She ended up as one of my least favorite girls for sure. I wasn't shocked she left with Sunghun, but I do believe she just went with him because none of her other options were left.

Goeun: She's stunning but I'm not going to lie she's a little boring. I loved when we got to see her cute and funny side, I loved that part of her, but she didn't show it very much. Her love square with the boys grew old so quickly. Like Mina, they spent way too much time on her. She was never very open on how she was feeling with any of them at all. She clearly had the best chemistry with Igeon, but I don't blame her at all for not choosing him and I wasn't shocked about her choosing Sungmin either.

Heesun: When she first showed up, I thought she was pretty, but I didn't care for her very much. I was shocked how she wasn't popular though because she is so pretty. She grew on me a lot throughout the season and in the end I really loved her. This poor girl had awful luck throughout the show. I loved her two paradise trips because we got to see so much more of her. I was so happy she left with Subeen as well, they easily became a favorite couple of mine.

Jooyoung: I kept getting her and Yejin mixed up in the beginning. Not because of their looks, but because they were both so boring that they were practically invisible. I legit forgot they were there. Her chemistry with Jaejin was fantastic, they felt like a married couple instantly. I was really happy they left together. I wasn't shocked that she didn't choose Hyunjae, personally I think she was never really even going to give him a real chance because she felt so sure of Jaejin.

Yejin: Same thing I said before about Jooyoung. I don't know why she was even here. She had no screen time because she was SO boring. She never even wanted anyone really either so she was pointless. At least Jooyoung had her love triangle, Yejin straight up was there for nothing.

Haeun: She was fun and cute but I also would kind of forget she was there. She got no screen time after she first entered. She still chose Jaejin in the end but we didn't see her try to pursue him at all after the paradise and she was close with Igeon but we didn't even see that either. She was the most forgettable "stir things up" person I've ever seen.

Overall I loved watching the show and hated waiting each week for the new episodes. I can't wait for season six!
