girl what is this? a star-studded trainwreck i want to finish because i've seen half of it.

Calling this show "lacklustre" would be high praise. This started off as a review, but it's become more of a cautionary tale - I watched it so you don't have to lol. The more I watch, the more I am convinced that this is a money laundering scheme from Studio X+U.

There isn't a single redeeming quality. I can't believe that ZB1 maknae line OST was wasted on this show.

When I saw the cast and the first teaser, I was so excited to see Park Hyung Sik as a villain, in the same show as Seo In Guk and Ma Dong Seok in a drama! I also really like Kang Mina, though Lee Joo Bin is a hit or miss.

Alas, this is such a colossal waste of a potentially good premise and a good cast. It's a hate/laugh watch for me (binged the first 4 eps to see why people hate it) because it doesn't really take up much time - the 40ish minute long eps don't feel like it because there are so many stretched sequences that I skip here and there and boom ep finished.

I think they blew the entire budget on casting and didn't have the money to pay for decent writing, direction, and editing. The cgi/green screen stuff is bad, and the action scenes feel unnatural, and the comedy is kinda forced and "try-hard".

The editing is so disjointed with random flashback inserts- my god what are those wigs and pre-historic costumes??? like y'all should've made a movie instead because the pacing and plot exposition is dreadful.

IT'S A NOTHINGBURGER if I've ever seen one because the concept seemed interesting, but there isn't even proper world-building or setup, no one even told us what zodiac what angel is for, had to check mdl/wiki, but they have time for a Kopiko ad in ep3 and the chicken place ad in every episode? They're wasting screentime they already do not have enough of??

What we know so far 4/8 eps in:

- 8/12 angels are alive, 4 died. We're left to guess who's who.
- Ma DongSeok is Taesan (tiger), who's the chief and runs a moneylending business and keeps visiting this old lady's food stall + also in the past, when she was a child, along with others (unnecessary full-fledged scenes).
- He hates all other selfish humans apart from her, smth to do with the others' death.
- Sung Dong-il is Marok, a human who is a detective and manages these angels. and there are 7 other angels who listen to him and the chief.
- Ogwi (Hyungsik) has been resurrected by "the priest" who wants to become immortal.
- Ogwi just sits on the roof, flaps his villainous wings as he appears for 5mins max per episode, and sometimes his eyes turn red.
- They need 3 soul stones for that and managed to grab 2 with no sweat.
- These were left behind when someone called haetae died in a flashback.
- 3rd stone is in Taesan's building so they've set up a trap to scatter the angels and retrieve that.
- It's hinted that both Lee Joo Bin's and Park Hyungsik's characters were lovers in some forbidden, star-crossed love, full flashbacks to come?

edited to add:
big reveals and plot developments in ep5 -8 include:

- villains took the stone and Mirr ( Lee Joo Bin) for her dragon soul for some ritual.
- Marok (sung dong il) had found the lair, but evil priest guy Samin became the evil spirits' FINAL BOSS from the stones of Haetae's soul (good guy who became an evil spirit) - so Marok died.
- WE GOT TO SEE MULTIPLE POVS OF THIS RANDOM FIGHT? HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE?
- angels are sad, devastated and crying but eventually the chief opens hellmouth and they got their powers back: angel avengers assemble?

- oh yeah, park hyungsik fainted, woke up, we saw flashbacks of the past forbidden relationship, he was sealed away and memories of the love story were erased but now he has them
and fled the scene with an unconscious Mirr and crashed into a cliff later. THE FLYING IS SOME OF THE WORST CGI YET?
- THE USUAL LONG, DRAWN OUT SILENCES, STARING INTO THE VOID AND INCESSANT SIGHING continues - where is the editor?
- MORE FLASHBACKS TO EXPLAIN PAST STORY - Park Hyungsik/ Ogwi was never the main villain.
- PRESENT DAY BIG FIGHT
- Finally got a proper introduction at the start of the finale lol.
- Park Hyungsik is on the Angels' side - SACRIFICED HIMSELF - wow what an evil villain lol.
- ANGELS WON - and dead angels are back, hellmouth sealed back again.
- Happy Ending
- LOTS OF PPL.
- Please don't make a season2 with the evil Mirr cliffhanger.
