I think I would have liked it a bit more if Ji Chang-wook had played Joo Bong like he did in the stage version but it was great to see his lovely cameo near the end
A nice yet convoluted rom-com. It had a few laugh out loud moments but the fact that both of the main characters were cheating on their partners just doesn't quite sit right with me.
This is a really unexpectedly powerful film about friendship and love. Primarily set in the 90s when a group of young adults are attending university it also shows where they end up as adults. There is an ambiguous ending which I don't usually like but this was really well done & ended on a beautiful & hopeful note for me.
Everyone returns!!! And I do mean pretty much everyone. Is it a fitting final?... Yeah, I reckon it is.
P.S. I gotta say I am so happy that Kamiki Ryunosuke came back to play the psychotically adorable (or should that be adorably psychotic?) Seta Sojiro (if only for a few minutes) 💜
Despite Sato Takeru being the literal star of this film as the cool titular character, Fujiwara Tatsuya deserves so much credit for pulling off such a performance in that costume & make-up, that takes one hell of an actor! Also does he remind anyone else of Rem from Death Note? 🤕
