It is very sad. Chi was mainly just angry at the fact Wu lied to him. He also finally realized that he is actually truly in love with him. It was a building point in their relationship. It brought them even closer than before because the burden Wu felt was finally gone.

Yes and no. Wu created his own grave by not telling him the motive and also because Shuo was scheming behind the scenes to make them break up. So 50/50. But it was mainly because of Wu's plan.

Honestly, with what he put Wu through sometimes (even though Wu enjoys making it worse) The man deserves to shed some tears

I'm on chapter 266 of the book and honestly the break-up era didn't hit me hard like the prison scene. OMG that shit was hard to read. When Wu sacrificed and sold everything so that he could be free. Chi finally realizes how much Chi means to Wu (literally everything it doesn't even matter the cost.) But its also when Chi realizes that this person he fell in love with changed, he wasnt like the person he once knew because Chi damaged him UGH THAT HIT SO HARD. Its finally the first time he sheds tears. (BTW for those who wants this chapter it is 263, named Heartache)
This sentence hit the most: That fiery little temper Chi Cheng loved most....was destroyed by his own hands.
Chapter 266 also is sad. The whole time Chi is in jail is a really tough part to read. He writes a little note saying "its not hate, its reluctance to part"

Meng Tao needed to marry a woman, so he wanted to present XiaoShuai as dirty. He staged a gang rape with a couple of straight men (u dont know this till WAYY later). They took photo evidence of the things they were doing but they didnt actually insert anything into him. They just wanted to scare him and traumatize him so it would leave an easier route for Meng Tao to leave. (Meng Tao hates dirty people). After the wedding he wanted to get back with XiaoShuai but they never did get back together. He has a shit marriage and its tearing apart that's why he is back.

Well, Guo Chengyu "accidentally" cut Meng Tao's arm. Wu traps him in the company's basement and then ofc overthinker Chi finds out that Wu is hiding someone and results to beating the ever-loving shit out of Meng Tao (he thought it was a sex slave) basically leaving him barely to function. (barely walk, move, etc) then took him back to Chengyu and telling him to deal with Meng Tao.

he finds out by Wu's mom telling him to tell Wu not to get back with Yue Yue and she even clarified that it was HIS Yue Yue. then he goes back to the clinic to prove whether it was actually true. he finds a little box with a lock and breaks it open. he find everything and i mean EVERYTHING, all the info about chi, the plan, photos of Wu and Yue Yue. it was BAD. a worker called Jiang to tell him that Chi was there and Jiang called Wu. Wu came to the clinic and automatically knew he felt it in the air. he saw everything and Chi asked "is it true?" and Wu goes "You saw everything" and then they argue and Chi said "if at any moment you felt that you loved me I will forgive u and forget everything" and then Wu goes "no, im straight, my plan was to use you, tire u, and break up. then get back with Yue Yue." Wu ends up asking him "did you even ever love me" (its because yk he is always thinking Shuo means so much and be will always be loved by Chi) and Chi goes wild and explains all this shit (like this is when Wu realized he FUCKED UP because Chi loves the shit out of him). then Chi goes back to Shuos house because Wu is like go back to him blah blah. then He tells Shuo he has stopped loving him. shuo starts crying they clear shit up. then wu goes back to his mom, his illness is not getting better and then she dies. ummmmm and Wu goes to the funeral but Chi watches from afar (he was watching Wu be all sad and shi) then Chi goes the next day and gives her flowers (WITH THE SWEETEST NOTE). then i believe he goes back to Wu's company and he walks in on Wu crying bc yk HE HAS NO ONE. thats when Chi goes "go on, cry, im happy to see you cry" and after a couple insulting things Wu cries more and that when Chi stops and realizes oh shit this is bad and starts to teary eyed and comforts Wu and said "baby lets no cry anymore" and he holds onto him. for the next couple of days Wu clings to Chi. (sorry if this doesnt make any sense im typing this at work lmaooo🩷)
