Been wanting to find another, definitely going to watch Love & Redemption after seeing this! I had it up thanks to recommendations from another Wuxia series but this seals the deal. Love me some awesome chemistry off the bat :D
Thank you for this review and being detailed about WHY it is overrated and toxic. I used to accept such behaviors when younger. I would have felt sick watching this now that I'm older and wiser that love isn't any of that bs.

No, no kiss scene due to the Chinese ban of LGBTQ+. All series are cutdown to not include them for television however some series do uncut versions though this is rare to find.
It's pretty good if you don't mind the tension and no kissing. You really don't need the kissing here since their bond are showed thanks to the directing and acting.
Taoba Yu was just brilliant as a villain, such a wonderful well written character! I was always on my toes (and we all know how great that would be as a lover lol). I can accept his terribleness and it does show the darker side of loving someone that you want to blackmail them (very terrifying and not healthy of course). The actor who played him was so marvelous, I hope he got awards for that role.
