When the kidnapper guy failed and jump off the bridge and got his hand cut off...XQ later told the his wife that he didn't visit her because he went to search of the guy and save him to sent. He sent that guy back to his kingdom to fight off for the throne that way XQ doesn't have to worry about the other guy.

What you said is correct if it's not an adaptation. Although many adaptations have move away greatly from the original source, but if you read the novel, the kiss scenes (although few) are not there for the the heck of satisfying the fans but instead are there to showcase the progression of the relation, Shiyi's great love for ZSC after many years of being separated from him, and ZSC's curiosity.... because after all this is the purpose of bring closure to Shiyi & ZSC's story (on how they went from awkwardness to very natural intimacy). However the live adaptation will turn out, I look forward to the drama either way.

It's because the crown prince was just a puppet. He had no power. The dowager basically is using Shiyi to her advantage by placing her to be in the care of ZSC, who had the most power with his army. Shiyi's dad also would consider to have the most power after ZSC. It was said in the novel that if the dad's first child was a boy, it would have been swap for a girl simply because everything had already been determined. The Dowager was pretty tying up all those high influence under her hands.

She is one of the luckiest leading lady to every been debuted. I was rather annoyed when she mentioned how prior to Love is Sweet, it was her lowest and bah blah..blah because it seems she had a period of no work along with other issue (heck, even Dilraba had a long period of no new project). I just want to shake her and point out the bright side. Other actresses took longer to make a name for themselves, most of which are not really great actress to begin with. Bailu is actually a pretty good actress, something rare for newer actress like her. It only gets harder from here, she should feel very proud of herself over something she can't control.

Don’t be sad, it was BaiLu’s decision to drop this project in order to take on Forever& Ever, which is expected to film all the way to at least February of next year considering part 2 is planned too). This is the best decision as the project is more interesting for BaiLu’s fans. ShangShi is in Production in the next months or so(according to what’s flowing on Weibo).

Actors with those demand should stay away from straight up Romance Drama and give it to other more commit to the role.
