Let me start off by saying that I really enjoyed and loved this drama. production value was top notch. OST...I'll…
Its very much true that the sequel to the Chinese Scarlet Heart was a flop and did no justice to the original storyline as except Go Ha Jin, no one remembered each other and creepily enough, they brought all the princes back in the sequel! :O
Man the last episode was so emotional... I wanted to hug Wang So so many times and tell him that everything is…
It indeed feels like a cliffhanger right?
Well, the piggy back ride scene was a bittersweet ending that actually provided a closure saying that no, they won't have a second part to this series!
Cried so much on the last episode, nobody got their happy ending, but I think the most pitiful is Wang So from…
Omg, can't agree with the painting part any better! :O I felt the same!
I felt like Go Ha Jin when they showed the scene where she sees the paintings at the art gallery!! I have cried since the episode where Prince Eun was killed until the 20th one and had been prepared with all my tissues to tackle all this bittersweet ending!

I hated to see how lonely Gwangjong was left by the end of the series. I think the reason why they showed his scar was maybe to denote that now he becomes a crueler person?
Wow, by the end of the series, we lost so many people and no one could have a happy ending! All these points add up to a second season but yes, if its a Korean drama that couldn't harbor favourable ratings in its homeland, then that might not be a possibility!
Why the heck don't they meet in the future? It was leading towards that in the end. I really thought they'd…
@Kaneki SBS cut it out? :O
Why the heck is that?
Even if they decide to keep it or not, the ending would still be same : sad. But atleast that would've been a better closure! We'd feel comfortable that even though they couldn't be together in the Goryeo era, they could meet in the modern world even though they don't remember each other, atleast they see each other!! And thats where they should've left off regardless of giving us a sequel or not!
The way that Gwangjong ends the drama after what Ji Mong said about Hae Soo being from an another world and that Wang So would go and find her in another life, just interpreted as "see you in next season" lol
This drama was fantastic despite the ending, about which I have mixed feelings. Maybe I'm more on the disappointed side as I was prepared myself to end it the way as the Chinese one did but didn't get an ending like that, despite knowing that the end result would still be sad and our shipped couple won't be together!
But then they show the very last scene, where they reminiscence Wang So giving a piggy back ride to Hae Soo and to be honest, this scene is more like the closure scene interpreting as "no, we won't have a sequel for this drama" :P
I would like them making a special episode and not a whole sequel like the Chinese one had! Just like squeezing a better versions of the Chinese sequel into one big special episode and provide a satisfactory closing!
That ending of Ep 20...I'm left speechless! Well can't wait for subs to finish this drama :)
OMG I've watched it now and just agree half with what everyone has been saying! I had mixed feelings about it but yes the feelings turned more towards the disappointed ending! Like the time when he says "now its my turn to look for you in another life Hae Soo" I thought he was gonna travel ahead as well and Ha Jin would see him at the museum or the art gallery just how it happened in the Chinese drama! :O BUT NO! Maybe I was expecting it to be like the Chinese ending, that when the drama didn't end on that note, I was disappointed! I mean, yes the ending is left to each viewer's imagination as it is a very "open" kind of ending, anything could be thought of it but for me.. for me it was like an indication of a second season and nothing else! Although I know a second sequel is impossible and even with any slightest of chance it is decided to be made, it won't make much sense just like the Chinese sequel but that kind of an ending, those words from Wang So sounded more like "see you in the next season" and I can say this because that's how I've seen sequels being made and suspenses being left off in the last/original/part 1 of the drama!
But when it comes to the very last scene, when he gives Hae Soo the piggy back ride and runs forward, thats more like the closure scene of a drama that decides to not continue into a sequel! Funny part is, this drama has both these kind of endings hahha! And hence, 50-50 feelings! But yes, in the long run Moon Lovers has been great (even better than Moonlight drama although I liked that one too no doubt about that, don't hate haha) and I've been on my toes since the drama had started and it had made me very interested in discussions here at MDL so I would definitely rate is one of the good ones I've watched after DOTS this year! :)
I haven't started coz I don't like the fact of him being the second lead again!

Ofcourse all the others are perfect too!

Especially, Ji Mong :O
