i don’t feel the chemistry either. i don’t know if it’s an acting issue (this isn’t an attack on either of them, i know some people just don’t shine in dramas because of the direction), but the constant fake flirting game is boring, and the dragged-out reveal gets tiring. i love xiaxian, and the concept sounds so good (a woman disguises herself as a man to become the crown prince, then falls in love with her enemy who doesn’t know who she really is), but i don’t know… it just feels like it wasn’t executed very well.
Is it written somewhere in the plot that Nan Heng is very handsome? By selecting young handsome actors, the producer…
if you don't like his look that's your problem lol for example there is an actor who is very loved in c-entertainment and I don't think he is particularly pretty (although I think the Chinese like it) but I don't go to him drama pages calling him ugly. You know why? because dont matter what i think .The drama wasn't made for me, it doesn't appeal to me, so why should I care? You should take this advice. Nobody cares about your personal tastes, many here think he's pretty, if you can't deal with a different opinion I suggest you go to another page.
At least in the first chapters the protagonist is kinda mary sue, I hope that changes. I see comparisons with the director's previous drama but here things seem simpler and the script predictable. I hope that changes in the next chapters.
I'm loving everything, but the fairy... how long does it take to her fall in love with demon king?? Her devotion to the other guy is starting to bother me

I know right? this is just a comment to vent, because I love him in this type of role (as well as in other types of characters). I'm pretty sure he won't accept any xianxia roles either. I like where his career is going now, I'm just saying I'd love to experience him in xianxia again, even though it's probably impossible.

(I love immortal samsara, this is not a hate comment, but the novel is not good and it wasn't even a popular book, I never understood why the director made the choice to adapt it into a drama. I think what kept my attention in the live action was the acting and chemistry of the protagonists.)
When I see some actors taking popular novels roles I feel sad because I can see Cheng Yi in these roles, but I'm afraid that he will stay away from xianxia for a while :(
