I don't know why but Taiwanese BL's always have the best storyline. Sometimes, it tends to be painful, but mostly…
I have avoided them of late due to the pain for refer to (I cannot keep having my heart torn out without knowing they will have their happy ending!) but there is enough here that makes me want to invest in Unknown
The Scholarship Award was perhaps the "campiest" scene in BL history. The sash? The tiara? The twerking? The "will you be my boyfriend?" proposal? Did I roll my eyes? Yes. Did I wipe a few happy tears? Also yes.
This was a series that started out from the blocks so strong and then kind of...drifted. But it gave us two gorgeous leads with tremendous chemistry; a couple to die for (Cher and Yei - my heart couldn't deal with how sweet they were); some great messages about STI prevention; education about asexuality; family forgiveness and redemption; and, overall, a wonderful cast.
What I DIDN'T like what the attempt at turning a manipulative s*xual predator like Dr Ter into a nice guy who gets to enjoy the company of a great woman like Taem. Yes he is hot (so so hot) but the man has many issues and BL writers need to stop sweeping them under the rug like they don't matter. They do. Redemption for @ssholes is not always necessary.
Overall I am grateful I came across this show by sheer chance.
I cannot believe I am saying this but the episodes are starting to drag. The drawn out "You have to win my heart" stuff from Dee was just pointless. They are both crazy about each other. They wore matching suits to the ball!! Yak punched Dr Evil for disrespecting his man! Enough!
However..the taped nipples scene had me laughing out loud. So random.
Cried happy tears as I farewelled my "warm hug" show of 2024! And everyone got their happy ending...even homewrecker Shone, after THE surprise cameo that had me quietly screaming (GMMTV listening to BL fans!)
Going to miss Kang and Moo. Thank you to this wonderful cast for bringing me such joy for 12 weeks ā¤ļø
I suddenly realised - looking at the preview - why Kang had decided to hang out with Shone in the preceeding 6 months. It was to ally any suspicion of the activities that were happening, namely, trying to convey his forbidden love to Moo through other means (the blank letters, dressing up as a character etc). Mother Moo and love rat Shone could never guess that Kang might have walked away from Moo physically, but never in his heart šššš
This show.....who would have expected a high school romcom would deliver proper emotional scenes and story like…
It is a down to the actors that I am so invested in a love story about 19-20 year olds. I have been charmed from the start. I want to be sobbing happy tears next week!!

Call me a simpleton. But Only Boo! has more impact on me than many other BLs. Even Bad Buddy and Last Twilight…
I didn't even want to start another "younger BL" and here I am, invested week after week with two of the most endearing leads in BL history (I said what I said) and angry that circumstances keep dragging them apart. I saw those blank letters and knowing what they meant, I cried. I am looking forward to my happy ending. I am looking forward to Moo getting his sunshine smile again
When watching Vice Versa I would never forget episode 11 in which Talay's friend a girl tells him her mind about…
Beautifully said. This week I have been reflecting on the OhmNanon situation and wanted to remind those who keep saying "Oh but why can't Moo and Kang just go ahead with the relationship" that Idol fandom is toxic AF. I am a BTS ARMY and the delulu stuff I read from other fans about the boys is insane. Personally, I would love them to be loved, and I don't care who with. But fans can be truly crazy.
I knew the break up was eventually coming but it hurts so much, especially to see someone so happy and lively…
Seeing that ray of sunshine become a dark cloud of grief hurt like a knife to the heart. Those two are the standard of being a great couple. I cannot wait for them to reunite (and they will, damn it!!)
Asking out of pure curiosity, I've seen a bunch of people hating the generic break up route the show went... so…
And this wasn't even "generic"...there was absolutely no other way unless poor Kang did it the way he did. Moo was never going to let go. People need to read up on the Idol industry and then explain how the hell our babies could get navigate it
I remember back to Ep 1 when Moo's mother told Moo about the Idol life, and that it was a lot uglier than what people realised. Well Moo and ALL OF US are feeling that as one of the sweetest couples in BL history are torn apart to satisfy the cravings of that industry. Kang loves Moo enough to give him up so he can "reach his Everest" - but I know love will prevail in this show. IT BETTER!!! Alas, it is not the reality for so many Idols.
Gee it will be really funny at the Idol Fan Meets when Moo rocks up with a "I love my husband Kang" tattooed on his face. Because NO ONE will be telling that boy to rein in his love...
Yak spends more time at the hospital singing and dancing for the patients of his "fake" (cough cough) boyfriend than he does at the gym. This boy is all over the place. Taem is a lovely queen, beautiful on the inside and out, but you are not in love; and if you don't get that fine, toned ass back into the ring, you won't be any closer to that goal we vaguely remember.
The scene with evil doctor at the restaurant was hilarious. Boy he is hot. But he looked constipated, meanwhile she was all but salivating.
Cher is everything. His boyfie is being a bit...shady. My spidey senses tell me he is not cheating. But will he destroy the business (that claims to be struggling yet has a sauna??)
