I looked up directors' names. No ZRB?

BTW what is idol actor route? Curious. Haha

Oooh...I'm going to search for the Dream drama. Will give it a shot even though MDL rating is only 7.4

Thanks for decoding the acronyms :) I'm looking forward to LYF season 2. Didn't really like Yang Zi's acting but warmed up to her in this show. LYX is another actor that I only respected after watching a few shows. Opposite reaction in terms of Yang Yang - liked him from the get go, but his inability to act made it hard to watch him despite his handsome face. I didn't mind the kisses on You Are My Glory though. Haha.

Who is ZRB?

Thank you for another awesome review...plus the comments.on this thread are sooo entertaining 😜 Couldnt figure out a few of the acronyms but still funny 🤣🤣

Your comments on the Zhang Zhe arc was enlightening. The drama made him a typical 2ML; I didnt know that he played such a pivotal role.

ZLH did really well. He was a completely different person from the character he played in My Journey To You. Such a promising actor, and so easy to the eyes 😍

Eh this OST takes a massive dump on most modern Chinese costume dramas, quite frankly. Far more evocative, a lot…
I've watched the excellent Nirvana in Fire. Was trying to find a platform to watch Chinese Paladin, before I start the version starring Xu Kai and Yu Shu Xin. But it looks like a futile attempt.

By the way, I've watched your list of recs and loved them (except for NIF2):
- The Longest Day in Chang'an
- Joy of Life
- The Red Sleeve (albeit, this is a Korean period piece)
- Nirvana in Fire 1/2
- Love Like the Galaxy
- Rise of the Phoenixes

I’m trying to find this drama. Where did you watch it? Thanks
Thank you. It's not available on Viki in my region (Australia). Guess I won't be able to watch Hu Ge and Crystal Liu together :(

Where did you watch this drama? I've tried Viki, Netflix and Youtube - no luck :( Youtube has an option with English dubs; they usually sound weird, so I didn't click. Haha

Why is this mediocre cheese-fest so irresistibly addictive?! LOL

Review Ripe Town Spoiler
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for your kind comments. I also initially thought Baozi stayed on at the brothel…
True that...the guy got away with serial murders. I didnt even think of that detail.

Review Ripe Town Spoiler
Thanks for recommending this brilliant drama. The final reveal was a complete surprise for me. Haha...didnt see it coming cos i thought Baozi grew up and continued working at the brothel.

Sad that Judge Song was killed off. He totally didn’t deserve it.

I wish Sangeng found out that his sifu killed his father.

As always, your review is well written and illuminated more layers. Thank you ❤️

Glad you enjoyed!👍
Agree that Zhang Ruoyun was out of his comfort zone. Even though I am a fan, i think this character was a bit outside his range, Not sure if it was the way the character was written. Still, it was not an easy role. Most actors would have fallen flat on their faces 😆

Thank you for your insightful article. I've always respected good writers for their abilities to weave magic. Wang Xiong Cheng is one of my favourites screenwriters since watching Go Ahead <3

Loved, loved Meet Yourself too. Both these dramas are gems; the cast, directing, writing everything were brilliant! Surprised that Go Ahead bombed in China :(

The Bond was fascinating because of the insights into life in China in the 70s and 80s. Felt like similar genre to Go Ahead. Ordinary people trying their best to live their lives as well as possible, making mistakes along the way.

I'm staying away from the Ma Yili drama. Reviews are not positive. Haha.

Long Night and Wind Blows were very good shows. Loved, loved Bai Yu's acting. My eyes were happy too :P

Loved The Bond as well. I'm looking forward to Parallel World.

I'm watching "Suddenly This Summer" because of Bai Yu. Still stuck in high school atm. Haha
