I just finished the drama. Could only watch an episode a day, but full of respect for the production team and the main cast. Second Bai Yu drama for me, and I totally enjoyed his performance. Chen Kun is of course brilliant.

I'm still in the midst of watching this drama. Sneaked a peek at your review... whilst hoping to avoid spoilers. Hahaha.

I was thinking of dropping it during the early episodes. The not-so-epic title and the poster gave me a romcom expectation. But the chemistry between the leads was underwhelming plus there were way too many obstacles blocking the relationship. Then again the falling in love bit was quite unbelievable.

The second half of the drama was better, especially when I stopped expecting it to be a romcom. I started watching it like a slice of life in the palace 😄

Reading your review helped to highlight the history that the story is based on. Thank you for that. I'm going to sit back and enjoy the rest of the drama...and stop hoping for a happy ending 🤣🤣

Totally agree with your review. Interesting facet of investigation that I've not watched before, but nowhere close to a good crime drama. 2022's Reset and K-drama Through The Darkness are so much stronger.

The con case using AI was eye opening though. Signs of things to come. We have to be wary of videos and not just scam calls, emails plus text messages.

I'm planning to. There are still quite a number of unanswered questions in my mind 😄😄

Agree that Lee Min Ho performed his personal best in this drama. Like you, I was never a fan due to his reliance on his looks instead of honing his craft.

Agree with your review. I loved loved the first half of this drama, and it was enroute to 9 for me. But the second half was too long and draggy. Plus the ending was quite lame.

Loved the sets especially their house and tea house. Different from most period shows.

Another brilliant review! You helped me understand some of the confusing parts in the main couple's actions. I couldn't get why SS kept putting up walls when she clearly loved BY.

This was the third drama I watched Wu Lei. The first being NIF made it hard for me to accept him as an adult in TLB haha. Plus the pairing with Dilraba didn't really work for me. In LLTG though, I finally sat up and noticed that Lu Wei has grown up. His acting has improved vastly here.

The chemistry between the leads are much more convincing; they were so mesmerising when together. In fact I reckon their chemistry is more potent than the one between ZLS and Yang Yang in WRTW.
