I thought the fight scenes in My Journey were cool. But then I watch these sequences without analysing too much.

Some of the wuxias we liked were Joy of Life, Side Story of Fox Volant and The Ingenious One. Heavenly Sword was good for the fights, but didn't enjoy the ML's acting.

The camera work was absolutely stunning. So many gorgeous scenes. People were beautiful...just too much make-up on the men esp ML. He's already very very good looking.

Meanwhile my hubby was not too happy with the fighting scenes. Too stylised and not enough details/flow. He wants to watch wuxias like Sword Snow Stride :P

When he complained about the amount of "music videos" I had to remind him that the title was My Journey To You. So romance was part of the package. Hahaha.

Another brilliant review. This drama has its ups and downs. Visual feast is certainly one of the ups....my eyes were happy most of the time. Haha.

Oh wow! I was so wrong to judge her based on her voice in the Devil/Fairy drama. The collection displays her wide range in her voice acting. I'm so sooo impressed. Thank you for sharing the links :)

Our poor girl shortened her life for him, and then have to live the rest of her 27 years without her love. But the scaredy cat brother gets to become emperor and live happily ever after. There is no justice in this drama world. Sigh.

My fave review of this drama. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I almost gave up at the early episodes cos it was sooo s-l-o-w. Haha.

But it got more interesting later on. I agree that the leads lacked chemistry. Just not convincing at all. Still I was hoping for a good ending. What did you mean by a very xiaxia ending? That he would only appear in her imagination when the flower bloomed?

Totally agree on the sizzling chemistry between the leads, and the lack of it between the second couple. I didn't even realise they were second couple till you mentioned it. Haha.

"the skinship quotient went from 0 to 100 in one scene but fades quickly as well. " - love your way with words :D Was so odd...like an anomaly. At least there was 1 swoon worthy moment. FL is a proven solid actress, but I'm in doubt of Wang Kai's ability as a romcom lead now. Haha.

Well writen review Thank you for sharing your thoughts. The aviation setting was so interesting in the first half of the show. FL's character was also worth rooting for. Sad that the leads couldn't demonstrate more chemistry due to the writing.

Thank you for your review. I wandered into this page cos it has the same director of Legend of Mi Yue (which is a brilliant drama).

The comparisons with other top notch dramas are very useful, and piqued my interest to attempt this concubine drama. I usually stay away from this period cos the half-bald men are not so pleasant to the eyes :P

True that. Even worse that the baddies didn't get the retribution they deserved for ruining so many lives!

Good review. Bai Yu was excellent. I enjoyed his performances in The Bond and The Wind Blows From Longxi, but he could display his amazing range as Jiang Yang. So glad his voice wasn't dubbed out.

Bai Yu was brilliant. His transformation from a young idealistic prosecutor to a broken man was heart-wrenching.

The cast for the hot pot gang was superb. Love their chemistry.

Well articulated review. Agree that the last few episodes were not as good as the rest of the drama. Would have scored a higher rating if the show was more consistent throughout.

I'm on episode 3, on my second attempt. Kept dozing off when there was a lot of dialogue between the confusing array of characters :p
