(In the process of editing my bio)

Hi! I'm trying to use this website more nowadays, but I've been in kind of an eternal slump since around 2021.

My first K-drama was School 2017, but I ended up getting kind of bored with it pretty quickly, but I was determined to get into K-dramas so I ended up watching Boys Over Flowers next. I had a good time and was immediately hooked, but it took until I watched W: Two Worlds next that I realized wow K-dramas can actually be really REALLY good!

My top 10 K-dramas:

1. White Christmas

Perfect cast; amazing cinematography, story and soundtrack, just great all over. This has tied with The Guest a lot, but at the end of the day this drama just cannot be topped for me.

2. The Guest

I really love horror and this drama is so good at it. It also has amazing thriller and mystery elements that kept you guessing till the end. It also has a great cast and the main trio are one of my favorite friendships in all kdramas. Also out of all of these dramas this is the one I've rewatched the most, and I don't really know what that says about me lol.

3. Alchemy of Souls (part 1)
This drama has stuck with me so distinctly and it was the first K-drama in a while that had made me feel as hyped as I had felt in the past during my prime K-drama watching days.
4. Six Flying Dragons
In my opinion this is objectively the best K-drama I've ever watched. I always like to describe it as the perfect combination of politics, action, and romance. This drama is also very special to me because it is what made me decide to study Korean history in college.
5. Nobody Knows
This drama is so good because the mystery to me is just so good and left me constantly guessing the whole time.
6. The Tale of Nokdu
I love this drama because I love the story, the romance, and the comedy. I think it's a very underrated historical drama.
7. Extracurricular
This drama is so good and intense and it really upsets me that it came out right before the huge K-drama boom on Netflix and because of that it's really underrated.
8. School 2013
I love the chemistry between the main two actors and I love that it dealt with the struggles teenagers go through very well even though it did get very melodramatic. Also I love the fact that the actor of the bully and the actress who played the top student are married with a kid now, so cute!
9. Extraordinary You
This is just such a fun drama with one of my favorite female protagonists ever. And it also provided me with the K-drama character that I despise like no other (Baek Kyung).
10Circle
I've never been a big fan of the sci-fi genre but I love this drama so much. I feel like it was so good and suspenseful, and hit the emotional beats really well.

My top 10 J-dramas:

1. Ikebukuro West Gate Park
Occasionally this ties with Beach Boys but overtime it's become my absolute favorite. I love all the stylistic choices that were made, and I love the look into Japan in the 2000s that it gives us.
2. Beach Boys
The vibes of this are top tier, but this drama also makes you think more deeply about life. I love the friendship between the two main characters, and I also love the story which is really saying something because I'm not usually the biggest fan of slower paced dramas like this.
3. Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge
The romance in this is absolutely top tier and it's one of my favorite fictional relationships of all time.  The quote "The 'you' that you hate is the 'you' that I love." has me squealing every time I think about it.
4. Alice in Borderland

5. Hana-Kimi
This drama is so silly and I love how it embraces the ridiculousness of the manga it's based on.
6. Smoking
This is an underrated thriller drama with a great depiction of the found family trope.
7. Houkago
This is a very silly and fun drama that I had a great time watching in one sitting.
8. Todome no Kiss
One of the first jdramas I watched! First time I saw Kento Yamazaki too hehe.
9. Yankee-kun to Megane-chan
Another silly drama that I really enjoy.
10. Ashi Girl

When I rate something 10/10 it means that either I just really loved/enjoyed it or it’s something that’s really deep and meaningful to me. But my rating system isn't 100% reliable because when I first used this website I wasn't really used to rating things like this, so it took me downloading Letterboxd to truly find my rating system but I'm too lazy to change all my ratings on here lol.

Anyone can request to be my friend!
