Why did the teacher killed his own dad on episode 4? I don't get what was the trigger.
He killed the dad because of what Dong Eun told him happened to her in high school. First off, he was disgusted by the fact that his dad would cover up for a pack of bullies and receive bribes from their families. Also, IIRC, a second reason was that he didn't want the family's – and thereby his own– reputation to be tarnished if rumor got out about what the dad did (Dong Eun said she was going to post about it on an internet forum, but she decided to tell the son before actually publishing the information to see what he would do).
Asian names don't conform to western genders, but Harry is sometimes just a nickname short for Harriet for girls…
What? I wasn't talking about the name, but the fact that the description used to refer to the character Harry as "he" despite the fact that the character is played by a female actress and that this was tagged as a lesbian romance. However, it seems like that was a typo that has been fixed since I posted the comment, because the description now says "she has learned"
I just came back from the local premiere here (after already seen it once in a different country). It is definitely…
Yes and no, there are a lot of thriller/mystery elements to the story but in my opinion it’s equally as much a romantic drama and about the bond that the two leads form. Basically you shouldn’t go into it expecting it to be like Oldboy
Thinking about if it's worth watching it on a big screen or not as they'll show it at the cinemas over here in…
I just came back from the local premiere here (after already seen it once in a different country). It is definitely worth it just for the cinematography alone
Just finished this and I fully agree with everything you said. I was hoping for it to be more focused on the "being…
I see, thanks for explaining the elevator guy thing. I wasn't sure if those moments were merely a bad attempt at comedy or if there was supposed to be some kind of point to them. And yeah, I agree that they should have added another scene to tie up the loose ends
I wanted to love this, but I struggled to even like it. It went downhill in the 2nd half. I loved the FL initially…
Just finished this and I fully agree with everything you said. I was hoping for it to be more focused on the "being a young adult and learning to get by on your own for the first time" aspect than some underwhelming love triangle with two unlikable male leads. The guy playing Yoshimoto in particular gives me bad vibes for reasons I can't quite put my finger on (I've only seen one more work that he starred in and it was the same thing there). Also, this is not as big of a deal, but: a) It was a bit weird how Tsukasa and Naoko were talking so openly about their love lives/personal drama in front of Naoko's dad and the brother and even getting them involved to an extent – I don't think most 18-19-year-old girls would be comfortable doing that b) What was up with that guy stalking Tsukasa at the elevators – he just shows up twice for bad comic relief and then never again?
As someone who has seen him in multiple mid-80s-to-90s dramas I did not recognize him at first when I saw him in the Cherry Magic movie. He looks really different now
I did like the movie overall (though not as much as the TV show). However there was one part that I didn't fully…
– From my understanding, the movie takes place shortly before the last ten or so minutes of the TV show (before the firework scene and before Adachi loses his virginity/his cherry magic for good etc) so he still has his cherry magic at the beginning of the movie. However, at a certain point in the story he loses it temporarily and he's never shown to get it back in the rest of the movie. Why did he lose it? At what point in time does he get it back? Sometime between the part where the movie ends and the last minutes of the TV show? If so, what causes it to come back? – IF I'm misunderstanding the timeline and the movie actually takes place after everything that happened in the TV show: why did he get his magic back? Because IIRC he and Kurosawa had implied sex at the end of the last episode and that then caused him to lose his cherry magic.
I did like the movie overall (though not as much as the TV show). However there was one part that I didn't fully understand concerning Adachi's magic and I'd like someone to clear it up to me (spoilers in the comment below):
>Everyone knows that only the first season was good>Average rating of 8.6You sure bout that?
I don't know what you're trying to accomplish by insulting people or editing out the "Everyone knows that only the first season was good" part, but I'll take it that you've figured out that I was referring to the rating of season 2
They better have the two leads from the first two seasons show up even if it's supposed to be a spin-off... Things just wouldn't be the same without Bae Doona or Cho Seung Woo
Edit: looks like it's the same show (based on what I could tell from the DeepL translation of the Naver article)
