What an episode. Jdramas increase your patience level. If Characters can wait, struggle and still move ahead then audience can learn from it and do the same too. I am more than ready to wait for translated episodes than losing my focus on easy temptation of not-translated episodes. Patience can trump curiosity.

Awesome episode which reflects in rating. The show isn't glorifying anything here as we the audience can see. What is a "teacher". What it means to be a "Teacher" is the main focus of the show. That ending scene is just too good. Everyone is hurt even the colleagues of our Sensei.

@rdturbo we all know why trp and ratings exist. Audience want their fresh cooked food so even if majority of the viewers are youngsters they will shift to live watch to ease their heart and satisfy their curiosity. This is why i consider "young audience not watch tv" just a typical answer being applied everywhere. Even here many watch this show live.
As for advertisers they have their own data analytics as well as well built metrics to gauge the trend. Even if a show is big online not means it will turn audience into customer.
As for kuroiwa's mother - single mothers don't have easy day out in real world. he's her only family and clearly she worries about him. To us viewers it looks like she is going overboard, which she really is going, but for her she is so concerned about her son and the relationship she has with him. She is finding it hard to communicate with him, understand him and make a warm and healthy home atmosphere .
Episode 07 preview has seen less enthusiasm from viewers. still trending at 6 at Yutube Japan. I was expecting 9-10% ratings for episode 06 this week. I want to experience those feels in real time. the way our main characters are feeling so i won't cheat by watching untranslated episode or by reading summary of episode.
From the preview its clear that Akira's mom will visit Suenaga.

AS @RDTURBO said Chuga Kusei Nikki with 1486 votes is 2nd most addictive drama Dai Renai of Erika Toda at 3rd and Kemonare of Yui aragaki is at 4th palce.
Awesome Episode. This episode does look a bit slow because that's aim of the director. The director wants to make a mark on your heart and he does it beautifully. It all is becoming quite visible because of relationship of Shotaro and Suenaga Hijiri. Haraguchi-San can see it quite clearly. Akira as 15 years old teenagers doesn't understand what his actions will lead to which is clear by what Akira wrote in the diary.
This was another beautiful and introspective episode. Fireworks festival scenes kind of grasp you heart and you can feel the discomfort of the heart.

Chuga Kusei Nikki is hit on youtube japan. Episode 6 trailer already reached 565k views in JUST 17 hours. Even episode 4 and 5 have reached near 1 million views. Its easily comparable to Idol groups videos. Episode 4-5-6 previews "Views" shows that the show has good number of online audience in Japan and the show is getting the love from Foreign audience.

This show is for adults, not for teenagers(mentally) looking for disney romance. If you want that then dozen of typical kdramas are there. Boyfriend is such a nice person and Such a confident BI-SEXUAL woman the manager is. Then we have jealous kids making rumours on 2CH. Kuroiwa completely confused about these feelings and what meaning they hold. He learnt that Love can be painful too. Suenaga's ups and down in her profession as well as relationships. Story is quite positive so far. Good Opening and well done direction. Beautiful Cinemetography. The only issue i've is - Rumours left alone to float and direction going for slow motion actions more than needed.
As MDL became more mainstream, ratings without watching a show or reviewing a show when just 1-2 episodes have aired, has increased a lot. Nowadays every shows gets 8+ rating especially Korean dramas. Other problem is when western audience try to impose their views on other cultures. Its clearly told in the description itself that story plays out for several years. Yet, so much noise is made here. People need be more mature and show wisdom of adulthood. Give it a try and then form your views and opinions.
For me 1st episode is quite good and we can say Teacher is a PROPER TEACHER.
These days everything is turned into a SNS controversy. I don't think the show is HIGHLY controversial or being Criticised from all corners as few articles are trying to say so.
