These two episodes were a crazy rollercoaster ride. I think they both used anger to cope with him leaving. Xie Zheng really screwed this up because he was jealous of her future husband and ChangYu finally let out frustration.

I know what you mean and what’s worst is when they turn soft after they fall in love. I think they did a really good job with this ML though. You see him gradually (very slowly) softening to her but there is an aura to him that can’t be dismissed. Especally when he means business.

I didn’t read the book but basically - 16 years ago someone (ML’s Uncle Wei) betrayed the whole army where ML’s father died. FL’s father (under Wei) knew something about it and went into hiding with his family. Wei tries to hunt FL’s family down and find the evidence (some letters).

There was way too much going on and too many new characters introduced every few minutes! I was genuinely confused with the story and all the names thrown at us. So complicated!!
