I reliable leaker that has been right so far every time said as such, also the official vietnamese sub site accidentally listed the show with 23 episodes. I guess they think it won't overlap with Kamen Rider since it practice it will be like King-Ohger's second half where it's a big change of status quo but retains the main cast? As far as we're aware from the leaks so far only two new hero cast members will be in the new show while everyone else remains.
O programa terá 23 episódios, mas será imediatamente seguido por um novo programa, no qual todo o elenco retornará, mas com um novo protagonista. Portanto, na prática, será semelhante ao Winspector/Solbrain ou à segunda metade do King-Ohger.
Not a great season, good plot but terrible writing, terrible execution, terrible production and some mediocre…
I don't see how being done in Super Sentai would improve it? It's just a matter of having a good staff to realize the alchemy setting, which this show didn't aside from Hasegawa and Inoue. That being said, Super Sentai already did better use of alchemy than Gotchard with the yellow ranger from Magiranger. Fun fact it was actually Magiranger's producer that proposed for Gotchard to have alchemy as its main setting.
It just have to be better than Gotchard, it doesn't have to be a great season of the best one of all time. Just…
Given everything we know about Gavv's production, it's almost guaranteed that it will be at least better than Revice and Gotchard. The problems in Revice were caused due to the writer not actually liking toku much, but Gavv's writer has worked on all 3 Super Hero Time franchises. The problems in Gotchard were caused due to poor planning in the pre-production, and Gavv is pretty much the exact opposite, it's the Kamen Rider show that has had the most planing since Kuuga and has already filmed 20 episodes which is something unprecedented for usual Toei Tokusatsu. Seemingly this is going to be Kamen Rider's norm from now on and probably the same for Super Sentai starting with the next season, so both franchises will be seeing a considerable budget increase.
The pre-screening of the first 2 episodes in Japan finished. The general reception for the episodes was really positive. The audience seemingly enjoyed the protagonist Shouma, the main girl Sachika and the villains. They said that the show felt like an in-between of Amazons and Zero-One and that the show was way darker than they expected.
Official backstory of Gotchard's villains which wasn't included in the show for some reason. Since I haven't watched the Gotchard Daybreak movie yet, I'm not aware if any of this was included in said movie. Here's the backstory: >In the early days of alchemy, three alchemists who were originally human abandoned their humanity with the power of the Philosopher's Stone and became one monster, the Dark King. The three are respectively Germain, the father of alchemy, Gaelia, the father of astrology, and Gigist, the father of theophany who created the first Chemie Gaiad and Dragonaros. >Furthermore, the Dark King created and enslaved Geryon. >Eventually, 120 years ago, he was sealed behind the Door of Darkness by the "Alchemist of the Dawn." >The remaining Geryon entered the Alchemy Union and continued his research into alchemy, dreaming of a Golden Land. >Geryon then created the Three Dark Sisters, and planned to open the Gate of Darkness in order to utilize the power of the Dark King. Ten years ago, his ambition was thwarted by Kudou Fuga, but after ten years, he returned. >However, he was thwarted again by Kamen Rider Gotchard/Ichinose Houtarou, and Geryon was absorbed by the Dark King, who was on the other side of the incompletely opened door. >The Dark King, understanding the situation, split himself into three behind the door, and first Gigist sneaked through the door. That's the general setting for the Dark King.
I couldn't continue watching after a certain point so I don't know if what they did was temporary or for the rest…
That's a weird complaint to drop a show for, but the show's producer actually agrees with you. The original plan was for the show to not have combiner robots and instead for the rangers to just have their Beast Partners, but the toy company Bandai rejected the idea because it feared that this would make fights similar to Ultraman. So the original idea was limited to just a few episodes.
Huh, apparently Gavv's popping gummy design was pitched as an alternative to Zero-One back in 2018, so that's why they look so similar. But only him, the other riders like Valen were designed with producer Takebe. Wonder if that has anything to do with his driver being similar to Build, like this was something originally pitched by Omori but I highly doubt that since the toys are usually designed alongside the producer. Still find it weird that Takebe decided to copy the Build and Sclash drivers considering how the transformation devices in her other shows were, maybe it has something to do with this show's coproducer?
I honestly hope this show's main producer doesn't come back to Rider and does Sentai instead. His tactics of making the specials and movies integral to the plot would work far better with Super Sentai since it isn't allowed to have as many. He also has stated before in interviews that he prefers Sentai over Rider so maybe then he would be more invested with his production and not be a yesman and accept all the ideas that his peers proposed to him. At least with Gotchard he learned that Uchida simply doesn't work as a main writer and despite him not having contacts due to being a new producer I feel Ayumi Shimo would fare really well at being a main writer for a lighthearted show which is the style of seasons he prefers. Heck, Akatsuki Yamatoya and Akiko Inoue as main writer would also probably do well with his producing style, I just don't trust them enough as writers but they would at least do a better job than Uchida.
Honestly liked everything from the conference except the opening which might be the worst one in Kamen Rider personally. Still really scared because of Junko Komura. Her most consistent problems are how she tends to only focus in like 3 characters then shaft everyone else, so having a lot of villains scare me. Also she kinda sucks at writing straight man. The only thing that kinda gives me hope is that we've never seen a show where the producer just let hers do whatever which is usually what Takebe does. Utsunomiya and Kazunari wanted her to make generic MOTW/villains in all her shows and Shirakura basically came up with almost every idea in Zenkaiger and barely gave her any freedom. Obviously freedom is a double edge sword but Gavv having more developing time than most Toei tokus gives me hope, at the very least it can't be worse than every rider that has aired since Zi-O.
