All time favorite up to ep 47, minute 15ish 😂 the rest is nightmare.

The thing is I hate Zhao Lusi 😅 even when I watched The Long Ballad, I skipped her scenes. I watched Xu Kaicheng on Dance of the Phoenix. He's gorgeous in there, but with the female lead, they look like uncle and niece, not a couple 🙄 that's why I love his chemistry with Chen Xiaoyun here. might be bcs their age gap too.

The drama ended abruptly. Bcs the writer wanted to make Jianming survives, some things left unexplained.

I don't know if I should be happy that in the drama Shaozi is shown as a good guy now I know in the novel he is a spy.

Now since it has ended, I need to heal my heart by rewatching sweet moments in this drama. For sure I will never watch a teacher-student relationship cdrama again bcs it will never end well.

I watched this drama bcs of Yang Mi and Xu Kaicheng. If not, I won't even have any interest. This will be my first and last time I watch Novoland, unless Chen Yuqi acts in it (which is hardly) 😅 now I have to wait for months until Mirror Twin Cities and Memory of Encaustic Tiles air 😴

Isn't it supposed to be 1 emperor 1 baixi? Jianming shouldn't be able to be baixi again. It doesn't make sense. The writer wanted to make Jianming survives and there we go.

I still can't believe Shaozi is a spy. So in the novel he was the one who stabbed the emperor but Jianming died instead bcs he is still a baixi? Then how did the emperor die? If he is a spy from Su Ming, is that mean Su Ming is alive until the end in the novel? Then I wonder if the writer didn't want to make Shaozi as the villain in the drama and changed it to Suolan 🤔

The ending goes back to start. History repeats. Jianming became baixi again, living in the shadow again, all the efforts spent went in vain 😭 I don't know why people are satisfied with this. After 48 eps we go back to the start! 😭 I have to heal my heart by watching ep 45-46 for the happy ending.

Which is why I don't like the ending at all 😭 first XuLan died, their baby was born prematurely. Jianming had to be baixi again. Then he's living in the shadow again. How come everyone is satisfied with it? 😭 this is not an open ending, the drama goes back to the start. All the efforts spent went in vain 😭 that's why I want to think of ep 48 as the alternate ending while ep 46 is happy ending.

They've been talking about Shaozi is actually a spy 😥 is that why he went missing during war? Then when he appeared again he looks perfectly fine, no wounds or blood whatsoever. This part is a mystery.

No, I didn't mean by "pleasure". I mean why the writer made them consummate again if she is pregnant at that time, even drank wine. That can only mean (the writer wanted to show) she isn't pregnant, but the mermaid can forsee the future that Haishi will get pregnant.

It's Zhuoying/Duohan. Duoluo is his evil twin brother.

That "oldest son" is surely misleading. We will never know which is the truth. But Lang Huan's reaction was also misleading. If Haishi was pregnant at that time, it was too fast! We are not sure whether they consummated days before Haishi sent the mermaid home. It was only a few days! And if she was pregnant that time, then why they consummated again? They must not bcs it will harm the baby. It's not about "FangShi didn't know" but that can only mean she wasn't pregnant. And Haishi didn't show any signs of pregnancy, she even drank wine.

General Zhang? Zhang Chengqian who is also a Jifeng member? Shaozi and Zhang Chengqian are on the same side. That doesn't make sense. I even thought he died but then there he is still alive and perfectly fine 🙄

Jianming lives in Jifeng pavilion now. Watch the ending post credit and you'll see it.

Some things are left unexplained. They cut 7 eps down. I wonder what happened in that 7 eps. So:
1. What happened to Haishi, Jianming and Lang Huan when they fell off the cliff?
2. Duoluo got kicked from Huku. The end? 🤷‍♀️ basically he's not even the villain? 😅
3. How did Zhuoying find Zheliu?
4. So is Haishi pregnant or not? If she has a baby wouldn't it be bad given that baby is a Fang.
5. So Jianming lives in Jifeng pavilion, but he can't go outside since he's "dead"? Jifeng squad went back to the pavilion means only them (and Weiyun) know Jianming is alive.
6. Where is Shaozi? He went missing on the last ep. Does he take over the Jifeng squad?

My disappointment is they showed too much flashbacks of Jianming-Haishi. Flashbacks after flashbacks. Also this drama has a lot of kiss scenes, but it's either one sided kiss, unconscious kiss, forced kiss, and finally blurry kiss 😅😅😅

He surely gave dozens of expressions and his character development is great too. Some people think he overacted, while I'm thinking did he not hurt his throat after all that yelling? 😂

Tilan's maids were sent by her father and not meant to protect her. The masters from Dazheng got the best servants: Mu Deqing, Shaozi, Yuran, while Tilan is from Zhunian so she got trash 😑

Both male and female leads are alive, but they can't be together. She is a regent, and he is dead on paper. The second couple died together in a war. The third couple is the only one happy.

NPE is Xu Kaicheng's best performance and character!

I think they killed off Tilan bcs she's a woman who keeps her promise. She promised to never let the emperor be lonely, that she will be with him in life and death. Even if she survives, she would give the regent to Haishi while she focuses on raising her son. The emperor hasn't write an edict to make her an empress, only for their baby to be the next emperor. The emperor will announce the empress position later when she safely gives birth and healthy again.

Do you like kdrama? I'd recommend High End Crush. Less than 15 minutes each ep with a total of 20 ep. It will make you laugh every ep!

For jdrama I'd recommend A Story to Read When You First Fall in Love (Hajimete Koi wo shita Hi ni Yomu Hanashi). This drama gives more than just romance.

For cdrama, I don't know if you have watched these or have any interest watching, but I'm a fan of Chen Yuqi so I watched her dramas: And The Winner is Love, and The Love Lasts Two Minds. Story wise the latter is better, but for chemistry and romance the first one is better. Both have romantic HE 😊
