I agree with absolutely everything you said. I really don't understand why they're accusing the series of queerbaiting. No one involved in the production ever said the story was about a romance between Uno and Jared. No trailer gave that impression, but all the promos showed that Uno liked Farrah, and she liked him, but she would be a little apprehensive to avoid hurting her cousin.

What I saw were several Twitter profiles talking about bl promoting the series, which caused a lot of misunderstandings.

We say goodbye to the gay teachers in a scene where they repeat that they are ADULTS and just give a kiss on the cheek. How sad.

Overall it was a good series, very charismatic characters, but it would have been better in 10 episodes.
