I watched the first episode of Master's Sun today and I think it's quite okay for now. But to tell the truth all what I can think about is Ji Sub ahjussi in a rom-com!

I don't usually care about the low ratings as long as the drama grabs my intention. But is that drama's ending worse that Golden Empire's?

The acting is rarely convincing, the good quality cinematography is almost absent and there's usually a lot of shouting in their dramas. I manage to get through by skipping most of the parts except the ones where the leads are in it.

Watching Golden Empire is a wise move; I am glad that Nina convinced you to watch it. As long as you don't expect romance then I am sure things will be alright with you. Keep me posted of how you feel about it.

Can You Hear My Heart is a drama that I decided not to watch no matter what; there's no obvious reason, yes I don't like the fact that's a melodrama based on romace but I only got 100% that I am not watching it.

Question: Have you seen Innocent Man (aka Nice Guy)?

As I explained earlier I don't avoid romance ingeneral but I avoid romance only dramas. I am sure you noticed the non-adult way of making romantic dramas in Asia, it's very hard to come around a drama where you will feel the passion and the strong built up without tragedy or melodrama. I gave up on Asian romantic dramas long time ago and it will take a miracle for a romantic drama to impress me. At the matter of fact, I don't want to waste my time on them any longer.

I saw several Thai lokorns not because I fancy their productions or language but because they have this exclusive genre "Slap Kiss lakorns" that are about revenge and I came to like them. However, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone because as you said their productions are below standard; the plot is usually messed and full of useless troubelsome characters, they take evil characters to an unrealistic level.

There's still six episodes to go and I like this drama, there's birth secrets though and it will make your head hurt at some point but then things come undone. As for Kim Ji Suk he does get a love interest, it's different and cute, his relationship progresses slowly but it's very enjoyable. You still like I Summon You, Gold, ne? Then I think this is a good choice for you.

Well, when we're general practitioners (intern doctors as myself): we're pretty familiar with almost every diasease out there and we know every organ in the human body, it's the general knowledge in our field that will allow you to practice medicine. A specialist like Neurosurgeon or Heart surgeon learns more about his field of surgery but that doesn't mean that he will forget what he learnt before as a general practitioner. Therefore, when a complication within the surgery accurs he knows how to control it because he's a veteran surgeon unless he's a Neurosurgeon and there's serious complications in the heart so they have to call the heart surgeon to interfere. Is that enough explanation? And never mind dramas, medical mistakes in them are so freaking huge that I refuse to watch any medical drama.

I like romance as a spice; a drama that's full of action, suspense, mystery, crime can be amazing if pits of romance were thrown in it but sometimes I just want it romance free drama.

There's also a reason why I am cleaning up my list and watching romance oriented drama this period; it's because I downloaded many of them years ago and it would be a waste not to watch them (one of them is Nagareboshi); some of them I watch with my aunt and friends but they never get high ratings from me. I will keep avoiding romance only dramas because many of them lack passion but Lovers will be on my radar and I will make sure to watch it once I am in the right mood.

Another thing about detective dramas, I tend to avoid the episodic ones lately and Japan is full of them.

How's "Can You Hear My Heart"? There was a big buzz around that drama.

If you want to see how much of a disaster When a Man's In Love is then be my guest but don't come to me crying afterwards LOL! Seriously, I started it because of SSH too and I already decided that I won't pay intention to the plot but I couldn't; it was too bad that I had to force myself to finish it because I don't drop dramas.

I agree that Taiwan has the lowest quality between the three countries you mentioned and even within the big five (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China and Hong Kong); it does come at last but you haven't seen Thailand dramas that are amateurish from any angle you look at them.

Now to answer you question (I don't mind btw), It's not that I was born like romance hater; if you came to me a year ago you would see me drowning in rom-com and romantic dramas but now, they've become so hard to watch and I always judge them very harshly that's why I tend to avoid them.
