There Hunan is restricted in my country too, but if you search in iQiyi, qq (Tencent), the TV version usually comes out at the top search. If you scroll down, there will be a different one labelled DVD/uncut version. That version only has up to episode 17 uploaded. Episode 18 still has the preview character in the corner.

I don't think it's VIP only, because usually if it is, it is labelled clearly as VIP access only. There's only the "preview" label for episode 18 today.

Possibly, but I'm just wondering what kind of issue would they have with the uncut version, as it's pretty much EXACTLY the same other than episode length.

From today's previews, it looks like she only decides to go with Yun Xan to Northern Yan because of the misunderstanding that Yuwen Yue only views her as a pawn/slave and that her adoptive brother died because he was a pawn to the Yuwen family.

Sometimes it takes a while for c-dramas to get hyped up though. Like Love O2O, even though there were a good amount of people watching it while it was airing, the hype of it came near the end of the drama.

If you search for Princess Agents on various Chinese video platforms, the DVD/uncut version has only aired 1 episode today too. Maybe there is a change in schedule for this version? (At least for today.)

If you can watch raw, you might as well watch the TV version. They're not much different other than timing of episodes.

I read on some Chinese sites that it was probable that the guy she fought with on the cliff, Yuwen Hao, is the uncle because it is said that Yuwen Hao is Yuwen Xi's son.

Not really, if it's a historical drama, I just like reading up on brief history of the Emperor/politics before the dramas to make more sense of the political/relationship dynamics that is supposed to be portrayed. Chinese history is interesting if there's something to relate it to afterwards.

No, just sad in the middle... But their story in the novel is a bit different than their story in this drama.

They do have a happy ending in the novel... after lots of really sad stuff... similar to Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms.

Yes, the really good part of long cdramas is how we get to see how relationships develop and progress.

I have more trouble with long historical phrasing/grammar. I'm okay with titles and such, even though there are so many of them in the Chinese language!
