Tan Jianci as Xiang Liu with white hair and white outfit is just Like the novel. I know he’ll do great with this complex character because he's a good actor with excellent micro-expressions and looks natural up close. I look forward to this drama.

Season 1 is having legal issues due to potential copyright for another novel called 快穿: 宿主又来祸害反派了/ Quick wear: the host has harmed the villain again. It's a bg novel, not bl. We shall see if things will be cleared up soon or not, and that will affect season 2. This is just info I got off Weibo with people's comments, so I'm not sure how true all of this is, but season 1 has been taken off the China platform for the time being. I hope for the best bc I still want to watch season 2.

A few Weibo posts said this is the lineup: Yang Zi plays Jiu Yao, Zhang Wanyi plays Zhuanxu, Tan Jianci plays Xiang Liu, and Deng Wei plays Tu Shanjing. I guess we will know for sure once production starts at the end of this month.

I think about Gu Yun almost every day. He's my favorite Priest character and I love Tan Jianci. When will they lift the danmei drama ban?! 😭

Dammit, 3 dramas and 2 are shelved. None have aired yet and I am desperate to watch one of his dramas. He’s lucky to get main roles as a new actor but unlucky his dramas don’t air.

I love Chen Che and Shen Zhou Zhou. I’m low-key hoping for some bromance in this drama. 🙊

I saw someone on Weibo who said that the investors pulled out from this project so they didn't finish shooting the film. I'm not sure if that is true or not.

That's ok. 2nd male lead is fine bc work is better than no work. He hasn't been in many dramas yet.

This looks like a fun drama to watch based on the trailer. And finally another drama with Xiao Yu Liang in it. I've been waiting since Ultimate Note. 🥲

Honestly, this drama is like a dramatic Kdrama. So much miscommunication and SZZ being resentful even though he misses Chen Che so much that it hurts. A lot of teary eyes and sadness for SZZ. That being said I love the bromance without any girls between them. Their love and dedication for each other will be worth the watch even with all the pain they go through in a lot of the episodes. So yes, they fight often but they always make up.

Wan Yi would have been good bc he has more acting experience but oh well. I'm biased so I wish it was Xiao Yu Liang instead.
