Nothing is as it seems in this deep, multilayered thriller

I just finished watching it, and it was such a great experience. It's been a while since a Japanese thriller has kept me this hooked.

From the plot and promo images, I thought it would be the usual story about a psychopathic cult leader abducting kids to kill them, with a detective trying to catch him and that's it. But I was totally wrong. What really stood out was how the drama kept surprising me. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, new twists came in and changed everything. It felt like the case was solved in almost every episode, only for a completely different perspective to emerge in the next one.

Unlike many thrillers that can be predictable, this one was very complex and layered, with multiple cases tied together, making it a really gripping watch. The pacing was great, there was no filler, every episode was essential to the story.

Additionally, all the characters were very interesting and the eerie cinematography was great.
The music, especially the one at the end of the episodes was pretty good too!

I strongly recommend it.
