I just want new viewers not to get turned away because of the rating because it’s not reliable.

TBH I have been focused on XZ’s acting more than the drama.
At this particular scene where Shi Ying is bowing in front of his mom’s tomb. The expression is exceptional. You have no idea how real this is. The jaw clenching to press down emotions and the frowning to hold in tears🥺
I wish the camera angle is better.

His admirable personalities, characters and professionalism! He has not performed on stage for a long time but he still worked hard and sang LIVE on a prominent stage in front of very well known singers at the Gala.
And the top notch handsome is just a bonus. ❤

As always I would suggest to let the story plays out. This is drama series so they build up story and characters.
Don’t judge just because the FL’s appearance is not your taste. There are too many of these types of comments just because of fan wars.

For new viewers:
Ignore the genre noted, romance is not the focus. But it’s a very good drama in many aspects. Storyline and characters development are great.
If you are looking for lovey dovey romance then this is not for you. Don’t watch and give low ratings.
They probably mistakenly listed romance first under genre. There is romance but it’s only one aspect of character building.

Don’t miss out on this drama because of genre labels. Watch for what it offers, great script and beautiful performance. Characters with flaws, in another word, with complexity, depth and relatable.
There is some military related stuff which am not into but it’s just background story to build up characters. I hope more people give it a try and enjoy.

There are few scenes of XCS & TXM gave me butterflies in the stomach. When he came thru the door, grabbed her and asked if she misses him. Another one is when he told he won’t teach her how to skate. If you watch the body language and small gestures.. so sexy.
I’m not idealist but romance is more than just doe eyes and kissing.
Regardless, watch the drama for what it has to offer, not because it’s mislabeled. The script is intriguing, the performance is great. It’s different from the usual c-ent dramas. The characters have much more depth than just simple bad guy or good guy.

To those looking for romance, yes it does not have many scenes because this is not that type of drama. However, when the main leads are together they are very sweet. You have to pay attention to the subtle gestures, the body language , beautifully done.

MDL don’t have as many members but it’s still visible to international viewers like me. And it’s about fairness for the entire cast and production team.

I’m reposting some comments for new viewers just to share my thoughts and not trying to impose in any way. It’s a surprisingly good drama and worth to share.

It comes to a milestone in the drama and I’m making notes on what makes this drama interesting for me:
It steers away from the typical prince charming rescuing damsel in distressed drama, i.e. rich handsome perfect ceo falling in love with common pretty girl, etc.
It portrays Individuals with personalities, in another word, characters with flaws.
From youngsters with ambitious dreams to adulthood. The choices they make may not always be right but it is the part of growing up, shaping their future paths.
From the young unrestrained, flirty, cocky XCS having fun with his childhood friends, to leaving his comfort zone going to army, making new friends. He realizes the world is much bigger than himself.
Thru ups and downs, they experience and learn values of family, friendship, love, and dreams.

Yes unfortunately there are those deliberately sabotage good work out of jealousy. Don’t give them the satisfaction. Please rate.

I have no problem with spoilers. But asking about what will happen to decide to watch or continue to watch is strange. That’s all. But yeah it’s one’s preference. It was more a curiosity cuz this drama is first time I follow comments on MDL.

Why do people asking about what’s going to happen when watching the drama? Doesn’t that ruin the excitement of watching and experience it yourself?
