A Promising Start, A Disappointing Evolution

After finishing this series, I honestly find myself wondering whether I watched the same production as everyone else. I decided to give it a chance because of its positive ratings, but the experience fell far short of my expectations. That's why I've decided to share my thoughts, especially for anyone considering watching it who might want to keep their expectations in check.

The series starts off strong, delivering a good dose of adrenaline and situations that keep you hooked, eager to find out what happens next. However, as the story progresses, it gradually loses momentum and eventually descends into increasingly absurd territory. The writing becomes inconsistent, and the character development leaves a lot to be desired.

The main couple doesn't help matters either: they lack chemistry, and their relationship never quite feels believable. Given the number of conflicts, the drama, and the complexity of the dynamics at play, it's hard to find a convincing reason why their relationship should actually work. There was one particular moment that completely put an end to this couple for me: when the male lead actually considered the possibility that she might have been responsible for the deaths of his fellow academy students. There had already been several red flags before this, but this was one of the most serious. Honestly, I cannot imagine building a relationship with someone who could ever suspect me of something like that. A relationship requires a basic level of trust, respect, and understanding, and when someone who supposedly knows you can question your character and believe you capable of something so terrible, something fundamental is broken. From that point on, this couple simply stopped making sense to me.

The story's internal logic is another major weakness. There are several questionable plot decisions and inconsistencies that are difficult to overlook, with situations that often defy common sense, even within a fantasy setting. These lapses become increasingly distracting as the story progresses and further undermine an already weak script.

Interestingly, Prince Mu is arguably the true hero of this story. He's a supporting character, yet he is the one who shows the greatest maturity, honesty, and character development. His journey is by far the most compelling and coherent in the entire series. In fact, without him, forget about saving anyone in that world! His arc proves that the production had the potential to create genuinely interesting characters, which makes the disappointment with the main couple all the more apparent.

In fact, Prince Mu was the only reason I managed to make it to the end. Had my interest depended entirely on the main characters, I probably would have dropped the series around episode eight.

All in all, a series that starts with a lot of promise but ultimately delivers far less than expected. If you're bored and don't have anything better to watch, you could give it a try, but I'd recommend keeping your expectations low. You might find a character worth following, even if it's not one of the leads.
