I was a regular commenter when the show was airing. I researched some civil laws of South Korea to better understand…
Violence is not prevalent because of shows like this. Shows like this are a reflection of violence experienced in real life. I don't want shows to pretend toxic masculinity doesn't exist or that many women don't have to just get by while putting up with it.
I watched the opening, but it doesn't seem like they were lip-syncing at any point though, especially apparent…
They recut it. Now there are scenes of musicians playing along that weren't there when i watched right after it aired, and there were definitely times when the singers closed their mouths and lowered their mics while their '" voices" were still singing that have been edited out.
They weren't even trying to lip sync in that first episode opening song! At points they just stopped singing altogether but the vocal track kept playing. Even the live audience caught on!
I would like to comment on the lack of punishment for the second leads. I waited, expecting that the second leads…
Yeah, no, I've never heard of that "code of conduct" in US tv. On what planet is every criminal act punished? Sure, if you're just here for fantasy, I guess that could be one of them. If you want complex characters where things don't always turn out as you'd expect, you're not going to see every wrong-doing punished.
I loved that they resolved the main couple's storyline before the last episode and were able to wrap up other storylines in the last episode. Though I don't think DW and YM got a good resolution. Did they never tell anyone? Even at the wedding, they were still pretending to be the youngest on each side just watching the baby together. And then a year later--were they even mentioned?
Only watched ep. 9 so far, ('cause reasons!) but it hooked me and I'm looking forward to watching the rest. It seems like an old-school kdrama, the kind that are getting harder and harder to find.
I did NOT see that resolution coming for In Ok! So well done. It was clear that her rejection of TK & YD was misplaced anger at her husband's family, but I never expected those characters, especially grandma, in a drama like this, to admit they were wrong and to apologize. And not in an off-hand way, but sincerely! Loved it!
38 was the best episode so far! The acting was fantastic, especially in the scene with all the big reveals! Everyone was so in sync with each other, it was easy to forget they were acting! The timing was perfect, and no one was left just standing around.
I do kind of wonder why they've been pairing alternate spouses lately, though. I hope they don't just drop the other siblings' story-lines.
Also, that is the PRETTIEST baby I have ever seen! Although they need a bigger doll for the scenes where they're using a fake. Take a look at size of the fake baby's legs, then the size of the real baby. The difference really stood out.
B: Things moved a little fast this week, but they have a lot to wrap up and not many episodes left.
