I agree..the 2nd male lead seems to have a cooler character in the anime
Hopefully GJ won't have less screen time than second ML. In the anime, GJ character is being painted as complacent, he's too good which makes him passive even. I hope he has some fire in him.

Does anybody know the differences between the novel and the anime? I'm watching the anime. In the anime, it seems that CHS pulls all the strings. I heard the drama is an adaptation of the novel not the anime, but if it's closer to the anime GJ's character doesn't feel like the lead. He seems conflicted and wants to be good guy without being the bad guy. He doesn't have a good story arc. Can anyone shed some light? Please let GJ succeed!
Just sayin'. Gong Jun's character needs to have an arc that is beyond a morally, righteous-driven hero who is quiet and reserved then ends up saving everyone. After binge watching S1 of the anime, this is exactly what's happening; it depicts this kind of character for him, but hoping there's much more to the character than this. In however many episodes they'll end up having for this drama, the script has to have character development that moves beyond "a hero, good guy who everyone loves and respects because he's so righteous/fair/handsome". He needs to be unpredictable. The script needs to surprise us all. The director needs to reshoot scenes if GJ fails to show the emotions to make it believable. Slow down when he delivers his lines, pause to build suspense, for example. Don't rush through the lines. I honestly don't care if there's a female lead or not or if it's more about brotherhood and friendships. Just don't be dull. A good script and a director who's not afraid to be the bad guy and push GJ to his limits will do this. I'm so excited to watch this but I'm also anxious for GJ. Still cheering you on GJ!
