So Zhang Yue did die. Han Yu is alive and reunites with Qian Qian. Yuan Bao and Qian Qian are both pregnant. Yuan Bao delivers a baby girl and Qian Qian a baby boy. Many years later Yuan Bao found her daughter playing with a fox (a real Samoyed dog, not a CGI). Then the soul/heart fruit appears, and so is Zhang Yue. The family reunited and there is some family/couple time. The end.

I don't understand why they didn't just put the special episode as a regular episode, thus Ep 31, as the length is the same as the others, and it continues when Ep 30 is left. They already filmed it before submitting it for NRTA review cos I saw something in the wrap photo that only showed up in the special episode: (spoiler alert)

So I assumed for the Chinese censorship agency NRTA approval that humans and non-humans cannot be together so the myths are just folktales and superstitions. Xianxia dramas with this type of romance tend to have a SE or OE. C'mon, it's just entertainment, viewers should be able to distinguish between fantasy and realism.
