If you meant the ML in Back from the Brink is the Dragon King Tian Yao, he's not an a-hole. If it's about that particular incident, there is a reason for him to do that. He just didn't tell her at that moment because the situation is urgent. It's a misunderstanding but it's resolved fast. That drama doesn't let issues between the main couple too long and they communicate well. It's highly recommended.
I noticed that main characters, no matter what gender they are, who are hurt by past lovers, either left (like in this drama) or betrayed (like in BFTB) are most likely guard their hearts against future love and shown as rude or cynical to the opposite characters. If you don't want to watch 'unlikable' MLs, you should check the synopsis or the tags for any hint.

The MDL synopsis is right but that is just about Ep 1. There is more into the story as the drama goes the plot is revealed little by little. The plot is intriguing. But the sub is horrible in MangoTV. Everyone here is trying to figure out if there is anything that is lost in translation. Viki starts subbing it but it's slow as for now.
