Kuga Ichiro (Sano Hayato) is a struggling manga artist. I'm surprised too with He Yuan Ting and the consort. I thought Chinese dramas make characters who do bad stuff get punishments either in prison, death, or anything else, to pass the review. Cannot tell since it's only Ep 2. They are not a couple yet. She just lost her father and he still goofs around. But they're long-time acquaintances, now still more like a brother-sister relationship, although his aunt says she wants him to marry FL. She's engaged to his brother.

It's a Thai corny joke, the more you watch lakorn the more you see jokes like that. Probably their dialogue is in the novel, too. So far I know they're blood related since the cousin says "we share the same DNA". It seems she's a bratty character.
