IMO the political is not as heavy as usual sageuk because the mystical/fantasy element itself is the main focus in this drama. If you check, there is no political genre here. The political struggle is clear, as another commenter down below said that the villains are as plain as they can be. Unlike politic-focused historical dramas (for example Joy of Life which the politic scheme itself is secretive and complicated you have to watch it) you can skip the political part and watch for the fantasy/romance part. Although I put a spoiler warning/disclaimer, I actually didn't reveal the big mystical/fantasy secrets in this article. You will find out yourself when you watch it ;D Waiting for MDL to give the feature of entry date the dramas in any list maybe will take a long time or never happen, lol.
