I need clarification on the scene when he's drunk... [spoiler below]
It seems like they used the same ol' trope: childhood acquaintance/sweetheart whatever you called it. So when he is drunk he mentions the detention center and she is surprised he remembers her. Was it shown before that Shen Du and Yan Xing met before? Cos suddenly there is this flashback of their childhood together. Then after that, Shen Du says "Thanks, Madam Xu" and Yan Xing gets angry. So, he apparently doesn't remember her. And he thought that the Grandma Dowager's confidante Xu Wan was his childhood friend? Cos in the character chart it says Xu Wan is his childhood friend. But it should be Yan Xing, right?
Is the same method used in Strange Tales of the Tang Dynasty season 2 in the last case. Using steamed glutinous…
It was funny that Xiao Fan made Huo Le did all the work cos he asked for a "more professional way" and left him there to watch the result. She probably already knew that if his guess was true that might happen and scare him... knowing well he is a scaredy cat... 😂😂😂
So far we see the drama has shown us that LMT has no care or concern about CXZ, even when he is injured. So what…
Nah, I think she suspects he planned everything. By now she should be familiar with his lies and strategies. She did worry when he fell from the roof and practically ignored the attackers around her and ran to him. But she also knew when he was there so were his soldiers/guards.
Why does she need "to suddenly fall for him" (again)? She has always loved him. Didn't you see how sad she was when she saw the eunuch give him a royal decree to marry a princess? If she doesn't love him she should be happy and relieved that he has to marry the princess.
Her love for him is shown in subtlety now, no longer obvious like when they were still together. Liu Mian Tang is not the typical FL who would drown in sorrow because of a heartbreak. Even if her anger and hate towards him subside, she has duties to her family and others to take care of first. Typical C-dramas, duties come first before love.
The drama is still okay if they bring a master villain out of nowhere... Why they have to make it that dramatic... sigh!
