I heard Douban rating is better than MDL for C-dramas, but unfortunately I'm not proficient in Chinese and when I use Douban with google translate, I'm completely lost finding where the heck are the reviews for dramas, lol

I love this... I got 5 Bs, 4 Ds, and 3 Cs. And for the Bonus part... besides possibilities of boss, career-oriented person, or emperor... you should add immortals and other non-human humanoids (aliens, vampires, robots, shape-shifters) ... LOL

FYI MDL ratings are not necessary accurate. I often find out some Chinese dramas are rated 10 way before they start airing. Seems like one person does it cos I only notice that in Chinese dramas not from other countries. Also when there was a popular Korean drama airing not too long ago, someone rated 10 because her popular actor but she dropped it in Episode 1. And many dramas are rated low for non-drama related features like no/lack/autogenerated subs and bad graphic or outdated style for older dramas.

My view on remakes are hate and love. I'm still quite new in Asian dramaland so I appreciate and welcome remakes cos I don't think I can watch old dramas with bad graphics and outdated fashion style. All dramas you mentioned in the article I do not watch the original Taiwanese ones, so I liked the Chinese remakes (though I deleted Forgetting you, Remembering Love cos most gave negative reviews/comments). But once I watched the original ones and regarded as masterpiece, I hate when they plan to remake it and will proceed with caution wait for people review/comment them. In this case for example the Taiwanese masterpieces Autumn Concerto and Someday or One Day.

I appreciate your review, as I came across yours as I read the ones that are against the mainstream, in this case most gave 9 and 10 while you gave 6. I always check low rated reviews for high rated dramas and high rated reviews for low rated dramas. I found your criteria are quite unique, different than how others view the drama (there was a lengthy discussion somewhere in the Community Forum section about how people rate dramas/movies). As for this drama, I dropped it at Ep 1 cos I could not stand the main actress/FL character. This happen a lot in dramas where I dropped because of how they portray the FLs. In this case probably the actress, cos I did not want to watch Little Princess either, where she played there with Mike Angelo. As for the main actor, I watched all his other dramas but this one.

I'm just curious... how were you able to finish a 24 episode drama in 2 hours? I assume probably as your ID name, you fast forwarded it. But still I may not be able to finish it in 2 hours. The reason I asked is because I have like 300 dramas/movies in my PTW list and I always look forward for any tip to binge dramas fast to clear up the list ;D

So do you think this drama falls between Oh My Lady (Korean, 2010) and Romance is a Bonus Book (Korean, 2019)? I watched both.

Having lurking around MDL for quite a while I notice that there are a lot of dramas that rated low JUST because no sub, autogenerated sub, sub stopped, old dramas, nowhere to watch even raw, bad video graphic (not from production but the media that uploaded them), or any other reasons than the content of the drama and its production self. In the contrary, there are also dramas that are rated 10 but not even airing yet. So MDL rate is definitely not accurate, just watch it first and see if you personally enjoy it or not :D
