Does anyone know what the meaning of "Liaozhai-style story" mentioned in the synopsis?

From the clothing, it looks like the same person as the one in the article, probably the director again.

For a farmer, his skin sure looks fair and smooth. I knew some farmers from the local farmers' market. Since they work outdoors with nature challenges, I'm sure they would envy this farmer's skin... 😉😉😉

I'm low-key disappointed the drama didn't show the real Qian Xue Shen at the wedding. The actor is handsome. When Qian Xue Shen was wearing all white playing flute on top of the snowy mountain, I was hallucinating Zhang Linghe, lol.
If you see the picture, you may agree: https://chonawrites.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/GTGEp8c.jpg

The story would be more interesting if the mastermind were Uncle Lei, because he would outdo Mu Qingyan as the top schemer by faking his disability, for example. Uncle Lei looks more charismatic and mysterious than the villain. The actor who played Uncle Lei reminds me of Baron Chen.

Wow... Viki actually subs it! Thank you!

From Now on Showtime" also has a magician who can see ghosts.

When I saw this poster, at a glance, I thought he collaborated again with Liang Jie!

Where is the streaming service? Not posted on MDL atm. Tencent?

s world posted it down in the comment

Hi Anthony, thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, my co-writer Wish seemed inactive or semi-active for some time, so she wouldn't be able to respond to this message quickly. I relayed your message to her, tho. I only helped her with the layout and topic claim since MDL didn't let first-time writers write articles.

MangoTV tho... 😟😟😟

Thank you!!! 😘😘😘 Unfortunately, my time is too limited 😭😭😭 for reading manga or watching anime, so the drama will do. I'll watch it now.

Not a manga reader or anime watcher here. How is this drama, anyone? Loved S1.

Who will sub this?

Another fake marriage???..... 🤔🤔🤔 [after watching Love Story in the 1970s]
YESSS... LET'S GOOO!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Sometimes they don't want to buy the express package if not super popular. I had to wait for 2 dramas in the past. If this too happened, that will be my 3rd drama waiting...

I dare not know. I read that the Cultural Revolution in China was very bad. This drama is just a romanticization/idealization. Not nearly close to reality. Like when ML and FL's bro were sent to the Great Northern Wilderness, which is basically a concentration camp. In this drama seems like a study tour, lol.

Why? Because his parents were sent away?

22 or 23. It says FL has tried to go to the university for 4 years but failed, because she needed a recommendation during the Cultural Revolution period, but her boss never gave one. When the drama starts, it says it's her fifth year trying. ML is maybe the same age as FL. He was her deskmate at school.
