There are a lot of complaints about the FL and her acting in the TLP page itself. Their moderators are not taking kindly to it and have "scolded" those commenters for it. Based on the reviews, I gather that the folks who shared their complaints, don't hate the actress, it's just that she just does not seem right for the drama, probably due to her age and look. Not everyone can carry off a costume look and she also currently does not have that level of maturity yet for this role and might do better in a modern drama. The CP chemistry is also not there with XZ.

Agreed! The team should either swap out RM with another FL that complements XZ or vice versa. XZ and RM just don't mesh as a CP. Watching their BTS and promotional videos, they look like siblings to me and no CP vibe whatsoever. YunLu has a sizzling CP aura and their looks complement each other. And they both look good in costume. 😍🥰 YunLu can do no wrong right? LOL 🥇🤪

I hope XZ's popularity can help with TLP numbers....

I just stop watching the drama if I find that I am dragging myself or doing too much FF. Might as well just rewatch TTEOTM or LIS. I have also gone off to watch English dramas and anime. You can try the Taiwanese drama "Oh no! Here comes trouble", it's a supernatural modern drama. I finished it. Interesting one.

I think give RM a chance and in a few years she could mature into a really great actress with the correct opportunities and guidance. But I think for now she is "too young" to play a role that requires more than cuteness. She comes across as trying too hard and coming off as cute and childish. I think it has to do with her still not having enough life experience to accurately portray certain emotions. It's all so childlike and unnecessarily cute vs XZ who comes across so wise and mature and his character is only around 17? Her character should be around 16?

This reminds me of the rule the James Bond team has on picking a James Bond. The actor has to be in their 30s as they need him to carry a certain aura that a younger 20+ actor will not have yet. Did you know Henry Cavill was actually favoured to be cast as the 6th James Bond but in the end lost out to Daniel Criag because he was too young at that point in time, 22 yo. If the movie gods shine for Henry Cavill this time now that he is 40, he might be our 7th James Bond. Anyways, I digress.

I am also distracted by XZ's costume. Come on, give him a better, nicer one. Why is his cape held on by 2 cheap plastic clasps? At least make it look more like metal clasps. LOL Even TTJ hostage prince's simple black outfit (Ep 4, where he was looking at the Geography of the 4 continents to see where XL will be cultivating and then got beat up by that grease bag prince) looks better than the costume XZ had to wear. And in the opening scene, why does XZ float down with his umbrella open like Mary Poppins? Come on, injustice to the man!! LOL I have not reached the dance part yet, but saw the one in the earlier episode where the FL was cheering for her friend like an uncouth person. *sighs* Alas...boring. 😴

Anyways, will try to continue for a few more episodes and see how that goes. *sighs* Not hopeful of completing this as well. TTEOTM! What have you done to me?! Moon Poison with YunLu Fever. I have it really bad and not even XZ can help this time. 🤪😅🫠

I also watch it because I like XZ. He is very likable like our Xixi. I am sure you have watched the various BTS and interviews with XZ, he is very humble and sweet. 🫰

But I think TLP team could have done a better job in casting a FL for him. No hate to the current FL but I think an actress who has a more matured air about her, less cuteness and that X factor aura would have been a better match for XZ and the character he plays. The FL, RM gives me baby sister vibes. When they kiss, it's like EWWWWW....Siblings kissing?! 😬😵🤢

Goodness gracious....Looks like I am not only having poisoning from Moon Poison, but have also caught the YunLu Kiss Fever!!! 🤣😂🤪 After you watch those 2 kiss so beautifully and passionately, you can never go back to those close mouth or lame kisses ever again. YUNLU FOREVER!!! ❤️❤️

I watched it for XiaoZhan but I can only take so much from most of the sidekicks around him and keep FF. That is not a good sign.

Btw, the Taiwanese drama you recommended me "Oh no! Here comes trouble", I finished watching it. Yayy! It was not bad, funny, sad and spooky all in one. The 3 leads had chemistry and looked believable as a bunch of unlikely friends. I am looking forward to Season 2 if there is one, Thanks for the recommendation. 👍 If only it was longer than 12 episodes.

If there was such a thing as Moon Poison, 🌕 I know I am deeply, irrevocably poisoned by the BRILLIANTNESS of TTEOTM and the SIZZLING YunLu CP-ship and all the TTEOTM characters brought to life by great acting. These characters evoke feelings from us. Even the bad guys evoke feelings as can be seen how passionately everyone shares their thoughts post rewatch. Dang, even the OST still brings forth a tear or two, months after the drama concluded. POWER! 💪💪

I have been on a Cdrama drought for a while, only managing 4 - 5 episodes of Destined before giving up. I thought The Longest Promise could be my antidote to the Moon Poison, but I find myself faltering after just 4 episodes yet again. Even beloved Xiao Zhan cannot save the story. Dang! I will watch a few more episodes with fast forward and see how it goes, but that is no way to watch a drama. The return of my Cdrama drought looms on the horizon. *Sighs* 😖😓
