I like this. There really isn't any twin shenanigans like the title might suggest, but this is pretty light hearted, and is a quick and easy watch. My one complaint is Pad, the sister. So over the top and frustrating (she could still hate gays in a much less bothersome manner).
I think that's what exactly the author wanted to emphasize, that although they're In and Korn's reincarnation,…
I really like your point about Dean becoming the active one in the relationship. I can totally see that, and I love your point about Korn and In being something like shackles on their feet. If you look at it from that perspective, I guess the ending is better. Dean and Pharm have digested and accepted that they had past lives, but are moving on to live their own.
I think I am just unhappy because I wanted a wholly different plot line really. I am fantasizing about some kind of fairytale soulmate au and am unhappy that the actual show didn't perfectly match my fantasy. (;一_一) I don't want to leave Korn and In behind!
How far can i watch in to the movie,so i can pretend that is has a happy ending even tho it doesn't??
I would watch the movie first. Watching the movie first will also help you to establish the characters and how they are related to each other, which was a little confusing in the show.

Erm, well, honestly? The movie is better in nearly every way. I prefer the acting and chemistry between the movie actors, and you do get to briefly see Bank and Golf happy and in love.

No no I am glad to help, I am the same way: I want to know all the details before I start watching :D
In the series, the brothers do end up together and have a happy ending. I would say the show does have a moderate amount of sadness and angst. Slight trigger warnings for violence and domestic abuse (shown briefly in flashbacks), and for discussions of depression and suicide (not of the main characters).
The bulk of the show tells the story of their teenage years, and shows how the brothers struggled to fit together as a family, and then their struggle as they fall for each other (the teen-aged brothers get together in the last episode). There is less focus on the adult brothers, who gravitate around each other but also only get together in the last episode (kind of mirroring the pacing of their teen storyline).
The few kisses that do take place only occur between the adult brothers, and they are steamy. As for cheating..... I would say no-ish? In the adult timeline Bank has a fiance, and he has to choose between Golf and his fiance. Bank stays loyal to his fiance until he decides to choose Golf.

The brothers are in a car accident that leaves them both injured. Bank needs a new kidney, or he won't survive. While Bank is unconscious, Golf decides to give Bank his kidney. This saves Bank's life, but kills Golf. When Bank wakes up he has a new kidney, but he isn't told it is from Golf. Bank is told instead that Golf has abruptly decided to study abroad. Months later, at Bank's birthday party, Bank finally learns that Golf has died. However, he still isn't told that Golf died for him. Their friends make up a lie and tell Bank that Golf had brain cancer, and that he went abroad for treatment and died a few months later. But Bank puts two and two together. The story ends with Bank finally visiting Golf's grave.
In the special, "Reunion," Golf is shown alive somewhere. You learn that all their friends and family knew that Golf was alive and lied to Bank about it, in order to keep the brothers apart.
The upcoming sequel (we are currently uncertain if it will be another film or a series, it has been in the works for years and information about it keeps changing) is set 5 years after the ending of the movie, with the brothers --presumably-- meeting up again.
And a final note: Because so many fans were upset at the tragic ending of the My Bromance movie, a series retelling the story was also made (different actors though). In the series, Golf doesn't die, but he does go study abroad. The show follows as the brothers meet up again after many years, and tells the story of their teenage years together through flashbacks. The series is also called "My Bromance."

Hi! Watch only until about 1 hour 25 minutes in if you want to completely avoid the events that lead to the sad ending. Or, watch until about 1 hour 43 minutes for some sadness with a potentially happy ending. If you watch past 1 hour 45 minutes, the sad ending is unavoidable.
Also, a bonus episode has been released, and a sequel movie is in the works, that negates the tragedy of this movie's ending. I don't know if that information will sway whether or not you choose to watch it, but it can be soothing to know that beforehand if you do decide to watch the ending.
Pls spoil it for me what's the "and a funeral " mean
Tina is killed somewhat graphically on screen in a car accident about 2/3 of the way through the film, and afterwords the majority of the plot centers around the funeral held for Tina and how all the characters deal with their grief.
I dunno. This is the first bl I have dropped in the middle in a long while. The story is kind of interesting, and the characters are kind of interesting, but I still feel kind of meh about this show. I didn't utterly adore any of the couples, their lives at school weren't all that fascinating, none of the drama really hooked me... Just overall general meh. I haven't yet gotten to any Forth/Beam flirting, and I have heard their relationship is good, but I just don't want to have to sit through more Wayo/Pha and Ming/Kit to get there.
Whoa, I just watched ep 5 of Our Skyy (the one about Kong and Arthit) and was blown away by their relationship there. After you watch Sotus S, pop over to Our Skyy and watch Kong and Arthit hold hands! Pat each other's backs! Snuggle in bed! HUG!
I only watched ep 5 for Kong and Arthit, and holy moly, my jaw dropped through pretty much the entire thing. This one episode shows them sleeping together! Pats on the back as they walk past!! Holding hands!!! HUGS!!!! My lordy lordy, I felt like screeching with excitement through the entire episode. That kind of casual contact is exactly what was missing from their relationship in Sotus S.
I absolutely adored this series! I think this is one of the best friends-to-lovers stories I have seen. I adored the friendship the four living humans had, and then the friendship between Thun and Mes was terrific. My main complaint is that none of the human friends ever saw Mes. I really think it would have added some quirky fun to the show if all of the friends could see Mes. Khem can see ghosts only in the very last scene of the show so I guess we can imagine at least him eventually meeting Mes, but... I wish that Mes had come back in a living body and the last scene would have showed him meeting everybody.
At the very least, I wish the friends had interacted with Mes more (we only see that one scene where they are playing cards). I wanted a dinner scene where the friends watch as the utensils float in the air, or a shopping scene where Mes tries on clothes and the friends just see the clothes floating in the air, etc.
I have really mixed feelings about this show. In general, I did thoroughly enjoy it as some kind of sad, beautiful, fairytale romance, but I very quickly grew somewhat dissatisfied with Dean and Pharm. Like, they are sweet, and pretty to look at, and it was nice to see a couple get together so early on in a show, but I was left feeling kind of meh about them. They are honestly rather boring characters, and the only reason they are interesting at all is because they were shaped from In and Korn. I think I would have preferred the show more if rather than just giving Dean and Pharm their memories, the show had made it so In and Korn were truly walking the earth again (maybe in new bodies, maybe in their old ones). The story would have been much more interesting to me if Pharm/In knew he was In all along, and knew he was being given a second chance to live. It would make him finding Dean/Korn much more dramatic, because maybe they both thought they were alone in this second life before finding each other? Or maybe one thought they were alone and the other had been constantly searching for them? Either way, I would have preferred watching the real In and Korn have to work out their problems to be together again rather than watch Pharm and Dean just be sort of drawn to each other.
At the very least, I wish Pharm and Dean’s lives had been somewhat more directly copied from In and Korn. You see it here and there, like Pharm learning to cook from a young age or Dean in general being kind of quiet and serious, but I wish there was just more. Give them unique habits that In and Dean had, or make them say phrases that were In and Dean’s catchphrases. Make them know things that only In or Dean knows (this was done once or twice in the show, but I wanted more), and have Pharm and Dean interact as In and Korn. I think I really missed having that in the show. I keep waiting for the time to come when Dean and Pharm would fully accept themselves as Korn and In, and they would sometimes call each other by those names, and for them to be totally comfortable using both names. I just wanted the lines between the past and present characters to be blurred a lot more than they were.
Furthermore, oh my goodness, Earth who played In was precious. I adored his character, every cheeky, flirty, fun, supportive moment of him. Compared to In, Pharm is so bland. Yeah you can argue that that is because Pharm has been shaped by the trauma of watching Korn die, but I feel like at some point in the show Pharm should have regained In’s cheekiness and he never does.
And finally, wow, WinTeam was fantastic. You literally only see three or four short scenes that show them going from student/mentor, to maybe more than friends, to first kisses, to dating and it was done so well for having so much of their relationship develop behind the scenes!!
yes, that is indeed annoying, I've watched shows that were subbed by crazed fangirls before as well and couldn't…
I didn't even think to look on youtube! Honestly I have been wanting to rewatch the show even though I just saw it a few days ago. Thanks, I will look there!
Is there any creepy bits in this? personally there's nothing worse for me than liking a series only for a main…
There are many mentions of rape and sexual assault, and several characters have lingering trauma because of those experiences. And in the first few episodes one of the main characters also often touches the other main character without his permission, or continues to touch him even when the second guy is begging him to stop. There are definitely some difficult topics in this show, and it is good to be aware of them before going into it. There are also many more sweet and happy and sexy moments though, so it is up to you whether you want to endure the serious moments to enjoy the fun ones.
Mixed feelings on this show. Tharn and Type are obviously hot as hell, and it was positively thrilling to finally see a bl that openly showed kissing (beyond chaste presses of the lips), cuddling, and even more explicit things. However, I do kind of wish we saw more of the sexy times later on in the series. I kept waiting for a sex scene where Type was fully into it (like, wow, this is so hot when Type isn't really participating, imagine what it is going to be like when they do get together?). But we really only saw a few occasions way back in episodes 3/4. After that point was just kissing and snuggling in bed. Like I said earlier, this was still a huuuuuge amount to see compared to pretty much every other mainstream bl, but it was a little bit of a letdown as the show went on and you saw less and less.
I also went into this show thinking it would be something of a harem rom-com where there were tons of boys all over campus chasing after Tharn, but Tharn would only have eyes for the one boy who didn't want him: Type. I kind of wish it did show Tharn being a bit more flirty and promiscuous in the beginning, because I think it would have made him falling for Type and staying loyal to him more interesting and impressive. I kept waiting in those first few episodes for Type to walk in on Tharn and some random guy in their dorm room, but it never happened. I also think that you don't really see enough change in Type in the first few episodes for his falling for Tharn to be all that believable, but you just kind of have to watch with your rose-tinted bl glasses on.
And finally, whoa, drama, swinging in at the last second holy moly. I have never gone from loving a character to hating a character so quickly. I do think the drama was a little over the top, but the whole show is something of a guilty pleasure so I didn't mind it. And I adore that Type and Tar's traumas weren't magically healed just by falling in love. Those scenes were difficult to watch, but it was so realistic how they were affected by their traumas for so long through their lives. Like, I would prefer if Type wasn't a violent homophobe, but I like how the show showed that these types of attitudes can't always be changed quickly and easily.
I think I am just unhappy because I wanted a wholly different plot line really. I am fantasizing about some kind of fairytale soulmate au and am unhappy that the actual show didn't perfectly match my fantasy. (;一_一) I don't want to leave Korn and In behind!
