The first episode is the introduction of Iki's previous life, so it'll feels like dragging. But trust me, after the jet plane chapter (starting from chapter 5), it gets better and better with all the thickening plot.
I call it slice of life police drama. It's light and fun to watch. A good watch if you're looking for something light but still has that action element.
I like it. And it's only 24 minutes per episode which is perfect for your daily inserts (sometimes watching a 50 minutes drama is tiring for me). And I like how Japanese dramas aren't afraid of actors looking like normal human being, with acnes, moles, wrinkles etc it feels more real watching Yakuza theme drama like this.
Has the same vibes with Nodame Cantabile. I miss Japanese dramas like this. Where things are just absurd, you don't mind about the jokes or the potential plot holes or anything. Where you just want to have a good laugh.
And so many familiar faces, back when they were young. They've come a long way.
I was not expecting much. I decided to watch because its only 24 minutes long per episode. But damn, it was a good and roller coaster watch. Sugino's acting in the last episode is really REALLY good. It's so raw and heart wrenching.
I'm sorry but it's a torture for me to watch. I just hate the FL. And the ML is stupid to fall for a woman like that. I'm still in the middle of the series, and force to watch because I'm curious to see where this goes. I usually like 2000s doramas but not this one ๐
Finally after dragging from one dorama to another I found something entertaining to watch. I'm on episode 5 and this is so addicting. I love the jokes too. I mean I know it's a bit sexist. But I understand neither you're a man or a woman, when you gather around dirty jokes is always on the talk. I think this is what the writer is trying to tell. Also shacho is so damn hot. I get why those ladies is drolling for him. Lol.
Same. Just saw orange days and long vacation. Both were amazing. They are by the same writer Kitagawa Eriko who…
I'm still in eps 4 but I don't mind getting sad right now ๐
Yes, I've watched both. It was amazing. The longing feeling of the one you love just feels argh so heart wrenching. Even other 90s 2000s doramas from other writers have that magical nostalgic kind of feelings.
I'm drowning myself into this 90s 2000s Japanese doramas. The nuance is different compare to today's doramas. It's somehow raw and heart wrenching, idk how to explain.
15 years ago in the movie beck they had too mute Satoh Takeru because the character was described to have an angelic…
And the way they end it with Naoki having terminal illness, I was like ah no not again. It's been used over and over again in most doramas, it gets too cliche. If you compare the storyline to Quartet, Beck, or Nodame Cantabile you know how lazy Netflix is. I'm sorry, still a bit pissed off because this story has so much potential but Netflix just wasted it like that.
Ok, just finished watching all episodes with a struggle. It should've stayed with friendship because stories about band usually gets cringey the moment romance is involved, particularly a love triangle.
Akane is more like a schoolgirl crushing over her idol unless if that's what the producer aiming for. Kazushi's crush over Akane is more convincing though I still don't get it why he suddenly fell for her out of the blue. But I like the bromance between Sho and Naoki. At least Sho has been with Naoki longer than the other two so I get where his compassion came from.
This drama somehow reminds me of that drama about Ayumi Hamasaki (M: Beloved One), had potential but lacks of something.
Overall it's another Netflix drama. Lack of story depths. Just selling visual and auditories (the songs are good tho, especially that song with Yukino).
Just finished eps 5, and this is really good. Like damn good. Ahead of it's time, still relatable. Quirky editing, nonchalant jokes, but nothing cringey about it. And now that Y2K fashion is trending again makes this show so captivating. Tomoya Nagase role in this is just perfect. The style, the swag, omg I just can't handle the swag. First I thought this is about fight amongst gangsters (which is not really my favourite genre), but turns out it's not.
I'm dropping this after the 1st episode because I sense the FL will end up with the ML. And I hate infidelity no matter how good the plot is. Satomi's acting is meh.
Just finished watching. The first four episode were boring, it got better at the 5th episode and after.
Keebou and Hikari's relationship is a bit unsettling to me. Perhaps because I'm an adult. Hikari has a huge crush on Keebou, and Keebou idk it seems like he likes her also. I find it weird especially since the other members keep teasing about it.
My favorite member is Miki. The most rational one, and because he loves his grandma so much. He's actually a better leader than Keebou imo. And I also love Choco's character development. He becomes more and more perceptive as the episode goes by.
