I don't know how old are you exactly, but people who are "at their age" as you repeatedly say, can be cute and silly when they are with their loved ones. At their workplace they can be serious and yes, they can get scolded as well. They can work overtime and then go out for a drink, sometimes, even though it doesn't happen all the time.
Age is a number. When you are in your 20s, you can be in a certain way, that changes through your 30s and 40s, but being childish doesn't go away, just because society says we need to be "mature" and "act in a certain way".
The jakkanim is using the tropes of a rom-com kdrama. In my opinion, we cannot compare it with "Goblin" at all. We have myths with celestial beings and such.
in KSS, the plot has a supernatural twist, with characters who have certain super powers like the advanced eyesight and hearing, that you can see in Marvel or DC's universes. Nor is common when you kiss someone to "see" their future.
You can find it weak and pointless but for some other people it is not. They want something light and easy watching, because that is something they can handle at the moment.
The K-Drama's message is for the FL is to overcome her fear of her gift and escape the endless and pointless notion that her personal life is awful and unhappy, because she cannot handle what she was watching everytime she was kissing someone. It also pinpoints that it is better to live in the now, because YJ was only living in the future, the one , she brought to herself.
That is the reason, we have fiction for. It uses several outlets to give you a message. Sometimes, we are ready for it, other times not.
