However, because of the behind-the-scenes efforts to promote Lu Yuxiao and the involvement of capital-backed supporting actors being added into the project, Zhang Linghe’s screentime is likely to be cut significantly. What we already know is that the Crown Prince version of the male lead before the face change will be played by another actor, which means Zhang Linghe has already lost that entire portion of the character’s storyline.

At this point, I would honestly consider it fortunate if his screentime only gets reduced to around the same level as in *The Pursuit of Jade*. Even in *POJ*, a lot of his scenes were cut in the later part of the drama.

🔔Drama Revenge Update: Zhang Linghe joined the script meetings about a week ago. Today, Lu Yuxiao also joined the meetings after finishing her other work.

The drama is expected to start filming around September 12. Zhang Linghe and some of the supporting cast will first travel to Inner Mongolia (China) to film the ML’s backstory before and after his face change (with horse riding scenes). They are expected to return to Hengdian in October, when Lu Yuxiao will join the filming. The entire production is expected to last around five months.

So the claims made by some Lu Yuxiao fans online that Zhang Linghe has been “waiting for Lu Yuxiao” before filming can begin are incorrect. This is simply how the production schedule has been arranged.

Inner Mongolia Province is also very far from Hengdian, and filming on the grasslands means much worse living and working conditions than in the city, with greater exposure to natural allergens.

This could be particularly challenging for Zhang Linghe physically, especially considering the chronic rhinitis he has reportedly dealt with since becoming ill after filming scenes in freezing water during My Journey to You (2022) in winter.
