Xiao Se was 17 when he was destroyed of his martial skills 4 years ago. So he's 21 now. I'm not sure about LWJ, but he's probably below 20.

The demon sect and the other sects/countries made an agreement 12 years ago, they sent the demon sect leader's son - Wu Xin to the other sects/countries as a hostage until he reaches 17. So he can return to his home now.

However, he learned a lot of forbidden/secret powerful skills, and also the other sects are worried the demon sect will invade them again once WX returns. So they want to kill him.
