Actually, ABAY so far is good, though some cliché plot, but there is no illogical settings, makjang, or ridiculous scenes. The story is believable and portrayed workplace situations. I've seen ridiculous dramas get better rating than ABAY right now

For BL, yes. But for other regular dramas, female centric are still ahead of the popularity compared to male centric. That's why you got so many female centric dramas are being filmed. Even female centric novels that were flipped to male centric dramas usually end up being flopped. It's hard for male centric to breakthrough the audience. Female centric is the safer choice.

There is no college trope between FL and ML in the novel, but there is college story between FL and her ex-bf in the novel. I think they switched the ex-bf with ML.

It is based on the novel. Some novel is male centric, like Guardian of Dafeng is male centric. Joy of Life is male centric. As Beautiful As You is female centric, and as most of popular chinese novels. There are cases drama flipped female centric novel into male pov/centric, but most of the times, the drama flopped when they flipped the pov from female to male centric. So, it is better to stay with the original novel pov. I'm not including BL here, you wont get ccp passing BL broadcast license now.

Hunan TV is smart to re-broadcast Go Ahead at 22.00 pm after As Beautiful As You at 20.00 pm prime time. The cloud TV rating for ABAY star premier is high (the highest in hunan for this year?) and Go Ahead will maintain the rating and excitement for ABAY next episode. I hope ABAY will continue the streak and not go in downturn.

I was not counting BL for that answer just now. If we are taking BL and GL into consideration, then yes, it's gaining popularity, though i dont think ccp will let it be mainstream. The rules are stricter now and it's hard for BL dramas to pass airing license.

Female centric drama produced better results than male centric drama due to huge female audience. Plus, the novel is usually written from female lead pov. And if the drama change the female centric to male centric from the original novel, the drama adaptation is bound to doom.

Peony team worked hard for peony, so it just made me wonder for shujinrenjia because both drama seemed to have similar concept and goal which is to promote Tang dynasty culture and marketed as serious period drama rather than idol drama. Just some wondering because peony was offered first to Seven

Likewise. This is one of the worst promotional planning in Seven's drama history. Actually, i dont even have high standard, but at this point even Road Home or Flight to You which has no promotion at all might be even better than this. This drama tire you up.

I'm excited for Xiaoyao. I think the drama will be adorable. Xiaoyao reminds me of Jinxia so much.

We are talking about 2 different TV platforms. You are talking about tencent. What'm saying Shenli took ABAY slot in HunanTV. Tencent and HunanTV is not linked like Mango and Hunan. So it's up for Tencent to release Shenli whenever they want. But out of nowhere they had a slot in Hunan. TV cares for cvb (tv) rating while platforms like Tencent cares for heat. Unfortunately, Shenli's cvb rating on hunan is on downward trend. After shenli took abay slot on hunan, like others said, they have to find other TV slot in Hunan. And Best Choice Ever is aired on CCTV8, it has nothing to do with Hunan. Their reserved slot is indeed on April.

They did cut the line. We can actually see that the channel prepared a lot for ABAY broadcast. They have been airing Go Ahead and Under the Power since early this year to build the momentum, and ABAY casts filmed and had broadcasted their hi6 episode. ABAY passed their airing license since last year, so the TV slot reserved for ABAY was definitely after hi6, and just right after Under the Power replayed on the TV.

Out of all the dramas they can cut in, they had to take ABAY slot who had prepared a lot for the airing. If i'm not mistaken, they dont even have broadcast license when they were rumoured for that date. Sorry i didnt mean to offend anyone, but it was just crystal clear that politics were played

With how hunan replayed Go Ahead and Under the Power on TV these few months and early this year, and how ABAY casts filmed and aired hi6 promotion already, i am almost so sure that ABAY airing slot on Hunan was hijacked🙃. I mean ABAY has their broadcast license since last year
